Loki and Sigyn having a cuddle. ^-^I love drawing these two together my Loki has a lot of faults but he really loves Sigyn and he's a better person when she's around.

I tend to find norse inspired stories a little annoying cos they always get stuff wrong, I prefer the texts ^^ But I have read the first rune marks and the first of the i bring the fire series ^^

When it comes toΒ contemporaryΒ reimagining ofΒ ancient myths, I guess I don't see changes as 'getting things wrong' so much as simply beingΒ alternate universe possibilities.Β That way, things can end better....Β *grins*

Yeh I just find they ofte have something in there that actually goes against something said in the texts and I just feel like they aren;t much like the gods I know and love anymore.
Ending better I do like cos the ending is waaay too sad almost all my favourites die.

I always love it when people actually show him loving her. Far too many people do the opposite and think that love makes him less of a bad ass, so drawings like this always make me happy.

Yeh I know what you mean people do draw them together less than they should. I've always figured Sigyn wouldn't be so loyal to him if she didn't know that he really loved her. My versions definitely love each other very much and are all cute and happy together.

I have always felt sorry for Sigyn. She is forced to hold that bucket above Loki's head for poison to fall into, and every time she has to empty the bucket, she feels that it's her fault that Loki is in pain... Poor girl

Yeh she blaims him for the death of her father, which isn;t really fair cos all the Aesir killed him and they wouldn;t have if he hadn;t tried to destroy asgard so really brought it on himself.

Well, he was her dad, and probably a good dad (at least by giant standards) if she's so angry. But she probably would've done that to any of the Aesir. Loki was just the easiest one to get revenge on

She gets along fine with the other aesir I think she forgave them but holds a grudge against loki because she made the mistake of sleeping with him.

Nah he seems to have been totally cool about it and just treated the kid like he was his but we don't know much about them the myths don;t even mention the kid or the wife's name.

Tyr, one of the rare good dads in mythology... I read somewhere that Tyr was the chief god for the Germans before Odin took over

he is a very old one and Odin came in a little later as he was a germanic god first, named Gautr, then crossed over into viking in very very early viking times. ^^
