Description Yet another circular room. I like them somehow.

This started as roman pantheon.. thats why the ceiling surely isnt historically correct.. but well, not doing science here

Comments appreciated as always!

Edit 12/2012: I looked through my old stuff and when i found this one i thought that the colour grading looked really flat. Corrected.

Surperb modelling and rendering there, great textures, Are the textures procedual or maps and what lighting was used the render, GI, HDRI/IBL etc? If you don't mind me asking.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

IgnisFerroque In reply to ItiseyeMeeSzark [2011-11-25 18:06:47 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a lot I always use mixtures of pics and procedurals, although pictures were used just to break up the procedural patterns, mixed with noise shaders, mainly on the rocks. The sand and rocks in the background are all procedural.

Has been a while since i looked at this scene, but i think its just C4Ds physical sky and sun and some small fill lights. Rendered with GI.

I ask because the light bouncing around looks good and perked my interest. CG lighting was the hardest part to get to grips with for me. I have a handle on it now but I am always looking to expand my knowledge in such things.

Certainly a lot of work, and it shows. Well done job on the modeling. The textures look great too, although it might be more interesting if there was more of a color variance in the stone. I mean, some being different colors that others, either because of natural randomness or by design. The sand looks like a solid. Still great work all around, and nice design too.
