Rude Wishmaster, you should always knock first!

So Actor (the waxy guy to WM's left) was the one on the last page of Issue 7 pretending to be both Professor Goyle and David to provoke Invinci-Girl into action against Goyle, while it seems that Taffy Man (on the right, obviously) seems to be one of several Taffy Men, and not just a singular villain, unless he's stretching REALLY far from Anna and Taylor's place...

So the Wishmaster is tangible, and with a functioning windpipe. Interesting. So is he mortal? I always figured he was some sort of spirit. I never figured someone could actually reach out and choke him to death.

So Fun Fact:  Eldritch Entities (which is what the Wishmaster is, and what the Storyteller was), are beings of sentient reality-bending energy that originate from the Void, which is the space between Dimensions.  In order to interact within those dimensions, which all lie on the Material Plane, they need to create physical vessels for themselves.  These vessels can be harmed and even destroyed, and when that happens, the energy within disperses, and returns to the Void, where they are able to fully restore themselves and eventually return, usually somewhere between 24 hours and a full year.  The more powerful the Eldritch, the bigger and clunkier the vessel, and the longer it takes to regenerate.  Some of the biggest and most powerful Eldritch don't even need vessels to enter the material plane, but they will still start to break apart while here.

The Wishmaster sort of has the problem of not being able to return to the void.  His energy is being denied entry, and so he's trapped in his vessel, which is basically a space suit for him.  It can be destroyed like any other Eldritch, and while it's unlikely that he would have died from suffocation in this scenario, he would have been out of commission for a while as he used his energy to repair his vessel.  If his physical form is destroyed, his remaining energy, which has been trapped in this dimension for 12 years at this point (which is a long time for an Eldritch to remain in the physical world) would degenerate and disperse, being unable to return to the void, and unless he could find a new vessel within a few seconds (basically any body without a soul, because those ones are occupied), he would in fact die.

So yes, unlike every other Eldritch in existence, the Wishmaster's situation makes him Mortal.  It makes him vulnerable.  And he's close to the end of his Vessel's lifespan.  He's desperate, hence why he's burning through his own energy to grant these Wishes to people, shortening his lifespan further.
