How do you operate it?

on the top of the dark grey part of the SGX there are the controls to set the timer, after you choosen you have to pull that white safety tab to uncover the "ARM" button, when armedΒ the safety led will blink to confirm explosive armed and after the set time the SGX will detonate

Yes, but I'm working on the scenario of a damaged tank and the crew having to abandon the vehicle. If an explosion manage to hit the inside of the tank, not even the best armor will save them.
