I found one once when I was in elementary school. It's wing had been torn off by something. It was crawling around on my palm quite content. It was a super fluffy bumble bee, too.

I once walked down my back porch stairs, and as I was moving my hand down the railing I didn't see the wasp there and BAM. Right between my pointer finger and thumb. The really fleshy area. Bleh.

But that was a wasp, and not a bee. But I love this shot!

Oh so cute!!! Nice how you took so many just for that one great shot : ) Defiantly know the feeling but your persistence paid off! This reminds me of a little fellow I saved a few months back. It was trapped in my house I guess and I found him lying on the ground. I placed him in a small animal container and fed him watered down honey on a tooth pick. He regained his energy by the morning and happily buzzed away : )
