Description Millions of people can feed the stomachs of other people, but only very few can feed the souls.... El Maestro "Luciano Pavarotti" have done both, since he managed lots of charity works, and a much of songs and acts in opera theaters.

I'm sorry if I'm gonna hurt some feelings but... I find it really disappointing and ridiculous to find hundreds of actresses or models drawings while artworks that's related to good humans are very few... like this man or even Mother Teresa... what a shame

It's been about a year and a half since I decided to draw this great honorable respectable generous human being. A real human who amazed and inspired millions since he started.
Finally my dream came true Yes, Yes... I did it
I updated it after a simple yet very essential advice from the artist John [link] whci made it much better "with the eyes n teeth", thanks man

you have a brilliant ability to use tone and shape to show off the human figure. My only advice to you here, is to consider how the pencil shows off what you're supposed to be showing off.

For example, on the hat you appear to have used cross hatching. I feel this would be far more effective if you cross hatched in the direction the material of the hat is sitting, rather than the natural way your hand goes. The same with the skin.

Be aware that a pencil is more than just a point, and that a pencil can make more marks than just a line. Perhaps experiment on a piece of paper, and come up with the most insane and crazy ways a pencil can make a mark, experiment with the way you hold it (at the end, in a fist, in your non dominant hand) the angle you hold it, how sharp it is, how hard you press, what kinds of marks you can make, long sweeping ones short sharp ones, and then go back to your pencil drawings and learn how each of these unique marks could work to show off the texture of what you're drawing to make your drawing more tangible than just shading

great portrait.. the features, skin ,light.. all are almost in perfection..
perhaps, you could have added a bit of texture to his clothes.. it's still a great work but there is a bit of distinction between the work in different parts..
keep up the good work

hi. so sorry for this late comment the drawing is really good. great likeness. just 2 minor points. the eyes are just a tad off. not sure if you're going for this style, but i thought maybe some part could do with a little more blending. apart for that, like i said, great drawing!

Ihabiano In reply to bm23 [2009-10-23 21:49:10 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the hints man, I really enjoy them anytime
actually you are right, well the blending isn't good enough coz I'm still trying my best not to mod or smudge by any chance that's why it also take me much more time with less quality... but that's me... the old school guy ...lolll

Thanks for all those I'm flattered

Ihabiano In reply to noperson [2009-10-05 07:42:05 +0000 UTC]

I didn't name him the opera king, he's the opera god buddy
Philip glass is a person I extremely admire and he always inspires me and give me very great and special mood for drawing or painting.
But Pavarotti will never be second.
Thanks for your comment, I appreciate that.

And u smell like an art appreciator

Cheers, Ihab

i do? (smell)? well, that is in fact what it says on my profile. your work on this piece is great all the same...

Ihabiano In reply to noperson [2009-10-05 12:22:44 +0000 UTC]

u know, art appreciators can fit in any field in art coz they have that material, but that doesn't mean that any artist can be an art appreciator coz it's too hard... of course the best example world wide for a real artist and art appreciator and observer is the Maestro of Renaissance, "Leonardo Da Vinci"
do u have a favorite classic artist?
