Description It's time for another XNALara pose and this time I bring you Soul Calibur 5's Natsu in her original illustration pose as presented when she was officially unvealed as a new character. The pose is just based on that of the illustration and not exactly alike due to the differences between what can be done in 2D vs 3D art. It still resembles that pose nonetheless.

Model Extracted by : and
Converted to XNALara by :
Posed by : iheartibuki
Using XNALara Posing Studio 10 by Dusan Pavlicek and
and Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended

Natsu is property of Namco-Bandai Games.

UPDATE: If you downloaded the image and/or pose, you'll notice the right hip armor clipping with her thigh. I fixed this so please redownload either or both of them. Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up, I will most likely create a blog in case DA takes my page down.

BTW, you have some really awesome renders! I tip my hat to you. I don't even know how to render in Blender but hopefully soon though.

Do you also know how to convert models for use in XNA Lara? I've been looking for tutorials but they're not very common unfortunately.

Thanks again for showing me your work, I really admire them.

You're welcome! Thanks again for sharing the model.

BTW, Natsu's mad at you for saying her hair looks bad.

Oh!
Haha, no I meant that it looked 'glitchy' in your picture because you forgot to enable 'always force culling'.

Ya I know, I saw it right after you mentioned it. When I don't feel lazy or something I'll probably reup a pic that fixes them.

Very pro job! Also, I think the pose is strikingly accurate. Remember, it would impossible to fully recreate the pose of a 2D drawing with 3D art.

Thank you! I agree, although I painstakingly tried to. 2D has a lot more freedom when it comes to where things go, especially when creating perspective. I found out the hard way trying to truly replicate that illustration and clipping parts here and there in the process. Oh, did I mention her shoulders can be a pain to work with? Seems like a lot of these Namco fighting game characters' arms are difficult to raise without warping them, even with the help of adjusters. Regardless, I'm glad it's finished since it took me quite a few hours, I embarrassingly admit.

Thanks again for the compliment, and the fave.

Yes, warping shoulders are a recurring problem with Namco models, yet, I find the Tekken 6 models to be some of the most flexible models I have ever worked with. Though, the worst case of warping that I can recall would be the Street Fighter and Super Street Fighter IV models. Their overly exaggerated limbs and clothing pieces (especially the standard Chun-Li model)are the absolute definition of frustration.

Take your time posing. There is no rush, so, just give yourself time to enjoy this hobby.

I haven't worked with Street Fighter 4 series models yet (which is funny considering my username ) but will be working with them soon.

I also agree, this hobby should be a source of enjoyment and not frustration!
