tracing is bad cause it's like using somebody elses hard work for ur own recognition, without any payback to the original..... >__< (which i hope that isn't your intentions)
if you choose to continue tracing then Okay but just know there will probably be a mob of people ready to spring at your throat for it in the long run... 0__0

or.. if you trace you could just state it so. one can learn a lot from tracing (i know i did) so it's not that bad, as long as you credit the work you traced.

also, drawing something closely resembling others' work (even if it was just inspiration) can look like a rip off so if i were you i'd credit that too!

It depends on what program you're using. :3 Usually there are different brush types, or presets, available for you to use, such as an inking pen or a pencil. And also generally a program will have a stabilizer too. (In case you don't know what a stabilizer is, it basically makes it so that the line lags behind the cursor so that it's smooth and defined) If by chance you're using a program that doesn't have these tools, I would recommend getting Krita. It's a 100% free art program that is very good quality. X3

Awesome!! Steven Universe is my favorite show. :3 You have an incredible grasp on anatomy (Unless you used a base *^*) However I would recommend not using a pixelated brush for inking because it hinders your ability to have line variation. Also you might want to use a stabilizer while inking to make the lines less shaky.
