Exactly that, though to be honest I always thought that humanity might`ve died out by the end of Portal 2 (or moved planets, since it plays of in the Half-Life universe).
I mean judging by some plants and how run down the facility got I`d say something like 200 years passed with Chell in coma, kinda impossible for no one to have stumbled and regained Aperture science by that time.

In all seriousness, this is just pure eyecandy! I'm loving the attention to detail on the old portal surfaces and the turret. I guess she really was busy being dead.

The plants growing over everything and the missing structural parts reduce the threatening aspect of GlaDos, and make her seem more natural, especially the way the wires blend into the vines.
