29 to 33.
Our team won.
Our team won, but I didn't win anything.

3:02 P.M.
That was when I asked you to come to the game.
I was in such a good mood that day, but I felt nervous.
Even though I was nervous, I knew that I'd win.
Because you were going to be there.

3:27 P.M.
Our game started in three minutes.
My heart was beating hard and I kept looking up at the bleachers to see if you arrived.
You weren't here yet.
I rushed to my bag and secretly snuck a peek at my phone to see if you messaged me anything about being late.
"Sorry baby, I'm almost there!! Good luck on the game, I love you! ❤️"
I smiled.
"This one's for you. I love you, too. ❤️"
I put my phone back in my bag before anyone noticed and lined up for the match.

3:50 P.M.
It was halftime.
I couldn't focus on the game because I couldn't see you anywhere.
I was breathing hard and my throat felt dry.
A few minutes later when I looked back at the bleachers, I finally saw you at the front row.
You waved at me with a huge smile on your face and blew me a kiss.
I felt better and I was finally able to focus.
Because you were there.

4:21 P.M.
It was my 4th basket and I heard you yell my name.
I felt so happy and I waved at you.
I thought, "I'm so lucky I have her."
I thought, "I'm going to do anything I can to win this game."

4:30 P.M.
That was when I noticed that there was a guy sitting next to you.
He was getting a little too close to you.
I thought, "maybe I'm just over-reacting," and continued to play.
I knew it was nothing, but I felt a lump in my throat and I began to lose focus again.
I tried shaking it off and tried not to get myself distracted.
But, he was there.

4:53 P.M.
Coach benched me out.
I became frustrated and I began to yell at him.
He told me that I was too distracted.
Well, he wasn't wrong.
Of course I couldn't focus.
That guy that was sitting so close to you, and it seemed like you didn't even care.
I began feeling miserable.
Because he was there.

5:10 P.M.
I cooled myself down and began to look less at your direction because I knew that guy was still there.
I didn't want to anger myself even more.
I wanted to win this game.
For you.

5:23 P.M.
We had one more minute in the game.
The score was 29 to 30.
My heart was beating so fast and it couldn't calm down.
I heard one of my team mates yell my name.
I sprinted to the other team's basket as he passed the ball to me.
I jumped in front of the hoop and slammed the ball into the hoop.
It was a buzzer-beater.
My first buzzer-beater.
My team began yelling and crying as they burst into tears and laughter.
But I didn't.
I didn't because I saw you smiling and kissing the guy who was beside you.
I've never seen you smile like that besides when you're with me.

At that moment, I didn't know how to react.
I was feeling everything all at once, and it was something I hoped that I'd never feel ever again.
It felt as if time began to slow down, and the only thing I could hear was the sound of my heart shattering and the sound of your laughter.
I began breathing heavily as I heard the faint sound of the referee blowing the whistle to line up and shake hands with the other team.
I dragged my feet across the floor and didn't raise my head up for a long time.

It was a few minutes after the game and I couldn't calm down from what I saw in the bleachers.
Everybody left to celebrate our victory.
I was alone in the locker room; sitting and replaying what I saw.

I yelled.
I screamed.
I slammed my fists onto the lockers as I began to weep.

I wanted to erase everything I saw.
But I couldn't.
Because you were there."
