i like the behind-the-scenes story of hansel and gretel that you put in this picture, i don't see too many artworks of hansel and gretel. also the owl gives off a really nice effect.
but in a way it gives a feeling of sadness, esp. the title you put in there, because when you say the dead mother watches her children, she can't help them and furthermore can't stop them from going to the gingerbread house where they meet the cannibal witch.
i really like this though nice job
