Description ... NO digital manipulation at all... everything is done within the negative.. not even darkroom manipulation... rest, I hope speaks for itself...

hear no evil, speak no evil, and see no evil photography. this piece is as awesome as the rest of your fantastic gallery, I can't believe I haven't found you until to-day. I'd like to comment on every single one of your works, but I'm just too lazy, so you'll have to regard this comment as an example of my greatest respect and admiration. -walks away, still not able to believe it-

This is disturbingly good Ija.

I love how you continue to amaze me with your fantastic technique and concepts. I also love how you create using the traditional techniques and prove to us digital freaks how it's really done!

Love the new haircut too!

Take care,

Rob.

well, brilliance can not easily be overlooked!! it's just how you take something that is 'known' and push our perception of it just outside of the normal boundries... its' what makes me love them so!!

the crossed feet rule

what does that mean - all done with the negative?

i love your concept work

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ijakopen In reply to devilicious [2003-10-30 20:51:17 +0000 UTC]

it is basically a multiple exposure shot... i didn't combine three negatives in darkroom or digitally manipulate it... I obtained this images by playing with light while I shot it...

go read my journal and you'll see how i'm all learning and confused

i took photography levels I and II and alternative process in college - but its been about 5 years and it was all film - this digital is osmething else!

The shoes remain the same, even thouh the rest changes.
Nice take on the multiple personalities shot!
The light and shadow on the far right looks great,
did you move the lights / flash each time or were you the only thing that moved.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ijakopen In reply to stayorgo [2003-10-30 20:59:59 +0000 UTC]

I moved the lights(which was strobes: flash) each time I moved to keep thebackground black... because black background means unexposed part of the film, so whatever I place infront of the black background will be 100% solid...

Oh.. thank you very mcuh... you are so sweet... I moved the lights(which was strobes: flash) each time I moved to keep the background black... because black background means unexposed part of the film, so whatever I place infront of the black background will be 100% solid...

This is exceptionally well done. Great skill you have. Very impressive indeed. Do you mind sharing how you did it? What aparture and shutter speed did you use, and the lighting conditions? I always wanted to try multiple exposure

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ijakopen In reply to photocell [2003-10-30 21:07:48 +0000 UTC]

Thank you very much photcell... I don't remeber extacly my f-stop.. I think it was 16 on a leaf shutter lens... with leaf shutter lens your shutter does not effect your exposure when you use flash lights... and I used falsh lights... I explained how I did it in response to other comments if you want to chech out... but if you wanna get a clear shot like that remember to keep your background black... total black means unexposed part of the film, which means you can place anything you want to that part of the film with no ghost effect... I basically kept the whole background black...
