Description

Ranks of the Reiches-SS

Part 1 – Enlisted & NCOs

Recruit – Introductory rank for all Reiches Wehrmacht personnel. This rank is held only during Basic Training, which for SS personnel lasts ten weeks (same as that of the Imperial Army).

Private – New SS soldiers are promoted to this rank upon graduation from Basic Training. For those Recruits who took JROTC courses in high school for at least three years or have spent at least five years in the Imperial Corps of Cadets, promotion to this rank can occur five weeks into Basic Training.

Private 1st Class – Promotion to this rank is automatic upon completion of six months in service. Those Recruits who were promoted to Private halfway through Basic Training are promoted to this rank upon graduation.

Lance Corporal – Promotion to this rank is automatic one year after promotion to Private 1st Class. This is the highest enlisted rank in the Reiches-SS.

Corporal – This is the lowest non-commissioned officer rank. Promotion to this rank may occur one year after promotion to Lance Corporal and after successful completion of the month-long Primary Leadership Course. Upon graduation of the Primary Leadership Course, newly-promoted Corporals are presented with their Non-Commissioned Officer's dress swords.

Sergeant – Promotion to this rank may occur two years after promotion to Corporal and after successful completion of the three-month Advanced Leadership Course. Personnel of this rank are often assigned as Squad Leaders.

Senior Sergeant – Promotion to this rank may occur three years after promotion to Sergeant and after successful completion of the five-month Senior Leadership Course. Personnel of this rank are often assigned as Platoon NCOs.

Master Sergeant – Promotion to this rank may occur five years after promotion to Senior Sergeant and after successful completion of the two-week Master Leadership Course. Personnel of this rank are often assigned as Company NCOs.

Sergeant Major – This is the highest non-commissioned officer rank in the Reiches-SS. Promotion to this rank may occur seven years after promotion to Master Sergeant and after graduation from the ten-month Sergeant Major Academy. Personnel of this rank are assigned as senior NCOs of Battalion-size units or larger.

None taken...this is an AU where I changed things a little. (Not to mention the word Rottenfuhrer could so be used sarcastically. )
