All Houses actually have produced Dark Witches and Wizards, except for Hufflepuff! So don't feel like you need to put every evil character in Slytherin. The Sorting Hat also can sort off of traits somebody wants to have, not traits they do have. Peter Pettigrew is an example of both of these things!
