ive killed lao with every single weapon.
it is possible to do this, however with some of the weapons you might need a friend to help.
its easiest to kill with dual sword and just use the meda energy things that dont decrease your energy over like 10 mins (cant remember what its called havent played in a while)

In MHF2 the weps i used were LS and Bows thats it. So in MHFU im trying to use all the weps not just my favourite ones, you know for some variety.

why not have one character with all the weapons?
My guy used to be LS,Sns and Bow but now im trying the weapons I hate. And I love them. They have their moments but boy are they effective. Gunlances are quite hard to make tho

i still dont get lances. like... a rar ten lance deals like 500 - 600 damage while a longsword deals 2 times more... and is faster. and the GLance shell lvl, w00t?
and how mutch dmg deals the "frikkin brainbuster" blast on a GLance?

Well lances are quite hard to understand fully, but if you want to you have to do a few training quests and then take em out to real quests. Theyre good against the big monsters ie akantor,gravios, ucamulbas cause you can charge through them inflicting quick but powerful attacks.
Gunlances do a lot of damage. If used properly.

not really. even if i give you the combos and configurations you need to actually go out there yourself to sample what its like. You see, every weapon has its own strengths and weaknesses. all you need to do is work out those strengths and weaknesses and then exploit the strengths to cover the weaknesses.
for example a high manourvrability weapon with no guard like the LS. Weakness is you cant guard. Strong point is speed and manouvrability. So to make it complete HGE would be quite a useful skill to have so you dont drop your guard when monsters roar etc etc...
use your common sense really. ive only been playing mh series for about 4-5 months now and i love it. the gameplay is quite deep.

heh. by me the bow is an easy weapon. no need for long delays. no need to watch out for powerfull attacks... most of the time. not so many bows to chose from but all are good. even if the damage is low, its being outbalanced by the mobility. i allready have all high ranked bows so i just gotta pick the right one for the quest... and if i need that extra charge... like taking an abominable bow vs a kirin or a daimyo warbow for a red khezu. Bows have simple upgrades - like 4 tree splits total.

yeh i know but with a bow evade +2 helps so you can roll better hge would help too auto tracker could also be good...
oh btw MH3 has been released on the 1st of August 2009 at Japan.
They've taken away bows,gunlance, hunting hammers AND dual swords...
They got a new weapon. the axe slice or something. its sort of an axe/sword put together... you get the sheild too.

Can never find any openings:
Takes a while to get to him durning the Kamehameha XD
Hard to escape the mad punch combo with lance drawn.
He jumps randomly.
The only way i see to get a few good hits is to be under him and facing the same direction. Then just do a back hop when he starts punching... bu then he might do the jump blast...

I know Lao is easy to kill ive killed it at least 30 times whilst farming for the ruby, but it does have an awesome enterance that you have to respect.
