Mario go to save Peach(again). He went to one castle, he defeat the dangerous traps and Bowser. So as you know in Super Mario 1, he saved a Toad, but the captured person isnt a Toad, Its Zelda!.WTH was Bowser thinking about?, and why she said that she wants be Mario´s beloved princess?. If you ask me, I think, she´s drunked(maybe

Oddly enough, this reminds me a bit of the "Rescuing the Princess" segment of the Newgrounds video S.M.B. Bloopers (a fair bit of warning if you click the link, there IS a couple of instance of the F-bomb being dropped by Mario, and Link also... well, let's just say he refers to him as a fat donkey after "thanking" Mario for doing his job for him.). Only here, Link doesn't end up taking Zelda away from Mario (or making a rude comment at Mario's expense while leaving), nor does Mario, clearly pushed to his limit, end up going on an implied shooting spree to vent his anger. And from what you said, he found Zelda in World 1, while in the aforementioned video, he manages to go all the way to World 8 expecting Peach only to learn that Peach STILL isn't there (or rather, he found the wrong princess).

Personally, I think a short, brave, good-hearted and selfless plumber like Mario would be a better choice for Zelda than a mute, emotionles, brave hero of time like Link.
