please don't leave. i know you are going to/already have, but your artwork is timeless, glorious, and from another dimension.
at the very least, please don't take down all of your art like so many others before have. ):

I've been wondering, so few of your characters smile, they're usually very solemn, or sad. (From what I've seen) Why?

Note: Your hands are still sexy regardless I'm just curious.

ikenai In reply to MegatronSmith [2009-07-20 16:15:05 +0000 UTC]

I'm not sure. I've been asked that before, and I still can't figure it out completely, but I guess it's more or less a reflection of how I feel everything around me. It's not like I'm sad all the time, but I'm a lot more comfortable approaching subjects in a more "serene" way - it kinda allows me to... go deeper. I feel that there's a lot more "introspection" involved when I do it that way than when I (try to) draw happier scenes or characters.

Not sure if I was able to explain it clearly ;; I'm sorry~

MegatronSmith In reply to ikenai [2009-07-21 05:21:33 +0000 UTC]

Hm. That's an interesting way to approach it. Actually, you're the first person I've encountered to approach their subject studies like that. Occasionally there might be a series of shapes, images or even colors but yours has a certain flow that I can definitely say is one of a kind. Interesting indeed.

I'm so sorry for the late reply ;; thank you so much, and I'm glad you're able to find something "unique" in what I do - cause I still can't

Seriously, you don't even need colour to make things beautiful! I can't believe this is pencil though, I am so blown away by you and how everything you do is different but yet the same.

I don't know if I asked this before but when/how did you learn how to draw? Your style is so different and just amazing!

Thank you so much

Hmm, how did I? I've loved drawing ever since I was little (when markers were the coolest art supplies ever) but then I just kept drawing random stuff, for school and depending on what they wanted - never "by myself". Later, I picked up the pencil again, trying to come up with something of my own lol. A lot of manga/anime influences, really. And fashion, I guess (cause I wanted to be a fashion designer when I was little haha). A lot of attention to everything around me too. I'm also an art student, so, even though our work there is all about realism, studying it is a great help for me to understand properly shapes and proportions and all. Though I never think much about any of those anyway lol.

And I look for images. Everyday, a whole lot of pictures lol. Great source of inspiration, reference, etc. And I find it extremely pleasant too haha. *has weird hobbies*

That is awesome! I love fashion as well I really want to design my own clothing and stuff like that but sadly I'm not good with sewing and stuff so :c I try to draw clothing I like... That is so cool I do that as well, well because I am a photography(not a serious one/professional) so I do pay attention to everything around me.

Haha don't worry I love seeing new images too! Thank you for showing me this website, I am going to defiantly make one haha XD I saw a few Audrey Kawasaki in your favorites, I love her so very much and I can kinda see her inspiration on you c:

Haha it's fine XD You did explain to me and I am happy to see you write loads!

I actually like your "colourless" pictures more than the ones with colour. This is more simple and more beautiful, a little bit like recently fallen snow, when it's white and no one has set a foot there yet.
