Kiitos. Haha, I am proud. I can't believe that I drew this without any refs.

FruVider In reply to Ikiuni [2011-03-12 19:45:30 +0000 UTC]

It's good to draw without refs time to time, to really need to think back on anatomy, to see what you've learned after drawing with refs (= I mostly use refs for position of legs and some anatomy (=

Ikiuni In reply to FruVider [2011-03-13 11:21:27 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. And then you really can see if you have done any progress or learned anything.

One reason why I love photographing horses is that then I can see their movements and learn their anathomy. It's almost my only way to learn the anathomy of horse because I don't own a horse, ride (I used to when I was younger) or see horses often. Of course I see photos and drawings everywhere (books, internet...) but if I used them as ref, it would be wrong. Of course I could ask permission but still. :/

FruVider In reply to Ikiuni [2011-03-13 13:50:30 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, you easier get a grip of anatomy and movement if you are around horses daily. I've owned my own in 8 years, worked with horses and see them so much each day I actually get sick of them sometimes hahah. I have a tutorial in progress about horse anatomy and very good tips and a way to use them, mostly for people who don't see horses so much.

It's kind that people make tutorials for those who really could learn and benefit them.
