More Gaia art ^^. This one was done for Mariettia for winning my art auction
The girl was painted in Photoshop while the BG is 100% Sai.

Hi! I added your amazing art to my favorites awhile ago but forgot to comment on it. I know artists love comments and my club #Good-Intention is encouraging people to comment more often [link] so I think i'll leave you some feedback. ^^
This is still one of my favorite shojo styled pieces on this site. I remember this picture specifically inspired me to do more backgrounds. I think the warm breezy ocean scene is one of my favorite aspects of the piece. I feel like showing this to other artists who ignore backgrounds to show them what they are missing.

Wow. It's hard to make an outfit that's nothing but shades of pink look good, but you really pulled it off. The background is also lovely, but what amazes me most is her hair. Curls of any sort are hard for me. Great pic

I can't figure out how people color so awesomely in photoshop!!! I has photoshop Cs4.. do you know if you can color in that version?

I haven't tried CS4 yet, but I'm sure there's not much difference. Try using different brushes and changing the opacity depending on what you want to paint ^^. Good luck!

... well... how do you make a good line art that works in photoshop? When I try to put the lines on a seperate layer the have a small bit of white surrounding them

I do the lineart in Sai, but I used to do it in Photoshop using the pen tool, which is very useful ^^.
But if you draw your lineart by hand and then scan it, I recommend:
1) Draw the lineart and scan it
2) Adjust levels (Image>Adjust>Levels) so you can get rid of the gray scratches of the paper
3) Duplicate your background layer, then delete the first one (the one that's locked)
4) Go to Channels (Window>Channels) and click the first button at the bottom of the menu (the one with a circle on it). By doing that you'll select any pixel that is not black
5) Press "delete" in your keyboard so you get rid of all the white (once you do that, all non-black pixels become transaparent)
6) Lock the transparent pixels by clickng the first button at the top of the layers window.
7) Select a big brush and paint all over the picture, you'll see how your lineart looks clean now (without small bit of white surrounding it)
8) Keep the lineart layer above any other layers ^^

1. Solo se nota el cambio de programa xD, antes usaba puramente Photoshop, ahora Photoshop y SAI
