Description

Matilda Rosdahl | She/Her | 20yo

A chaotic multitasker who doesn't talk much; this is propably how most of the people would describe their first impressions of Matilda. This energetic and spontaneous lion is rarely seen sitting still, and rather always seen working on something, was it doing preparations for the next pride event or making sure there's always coffee available. Boredom is not a word in her vocabulary. If you are a friend of Matilda and are out of ideas what to do, you can trust this lion to come up with something wild to spice up the day. Matilda loves new experiences and throwing herself to the unknown in hopes of learning something new about the world and people. While Matilda's tendency to withdraw from socialization might make one thing she's an introvert, she's actually a big extrovert who just happens to be quite shy. She loves being around others and going to parties and gatherings, but she's not the life of them. Matilda has a thing for taking introverts under her wing who are even more shy than her and have trouble finding friends. She has a very protective and nurturing nature (sometimes to a fault) which is why she tends to be the one who people talk to about their hardships. If someone is not doing well, she wants to do everything she can to help the person out of their distress.

Matilda was born and raised in the city of Northpass, the shaman city of Nordia, the only place where magic and witchcraft are still being practiced and spirits being owned. Even though witchcraft is a common practice in her city, she personally hasn't dabbled in it. Matilda spent her early childhood growing up in a wealthy family which never had shortage of money, but for sure had one for love. Due to their high status, her parents were very status-centric, especially her mother. Nothing mattered to her mother more than appearing as a perfect and happy family to their community who don't diverge from social norms. In reality Matilda's mother was a narcissistic, authoritan and abusive parent who didn't give a damn about her child's happiness. To her, Matilda was a project, someone she could mold into her ideal child to brag about. Matilda's father wasn't the perfect parent either but unlike Matilda's mother, her father actually cared for his child. He alone took care of Matilda and never would try to control her identity. Her father was an abuse victim and was afraid to leave his wife not only in fear of violence but due to their high status as well.

As long as Matilda can remember, she has felt wrong in her body. She was assigned male at birth, but has never felt like one. The older she got, the more dysphoric she felt about her body and how she was percieved as a boy. It wasn't uncommon that she was made fun of for being more feminine than other boys in her school. The worst of them all though was her mother, who practically worshipped masculinity and went haywire if Matilda showed even a tiny bit of femininity. As she got older, Matilda started to understand that she's transgender. At the age of 12, her father finally took a divorce of his wife and left their community with Matilda. In a new school Matilda thought she could finally start being herself, actually getting to live as a girl. However, regardless of request from her and her father, most of the teachers didn't accept her identity and kept treating her as a boy, which was humiliating to her.  Nowadays as an adult Matilda is an active member of her local LGBT+ community. Matilda's dream is to become a therapist one day, but due to negative views of trans people in her society she hasn't been able to get into any schools. Even getting her current 9-to-5 minimum wage job as a barista was difficult for her. Matilda wants make schools a safe and accepting environment for people like her so everyone would have an equal opportunity to pursue their dreams.
