This is really neat. I love skulls for one, but I like how you colored it. It looks kind of metallic like.

I just can't stick to straight realism. That was the idea behind doing the still life I'm working on but i already got bored and started messing with the colors a bit.

Thanks very much. I tried to just "go with it" on this. I guess I was successful.

The bullet hole is actually a hole in the underpainting which I just decided to work with. Cool interpretation of my artistic license. Here's the original photo [link]

The first thing I always seem to notice about your work is the colours and the way you work with them. And you can see the brush-strokes! And the diagonal pattern of the undercoat beneath the paint. That's something I like to see, for some reason. I think I like the fact that an image may look 'real', but when you get up close, you can see the strokes and patterns that brought it to life.

Thanks very much. Almost all of my work starts with an underpainting of some kind... need to rewrite my artist's statement to clarify that it's because of the constant cycles of construction-deconstruction-construction that everything goes through. The photo I worked from is here [link]

Lots of emotion in your brush strokes, great interpretation.

Amazing dimension and use of color here. The greens convey the bone's 'depth' very well.

hehe - I was thinking about zombies and the bomber bomber plane graveyard sequence in the movie "Heavy Metal" when I decided on green.

Hey now that's something I haven't seen for a while... That left quite an impression on me when I saw it for the first time and I was legal enough to see it! But it was seriously cut down. Probably something I should invest in DVD form...

That's cool though!

heh- everytime I consider adding a "reccommended listening" AN to my fic, I realize I'd list a bunch of songs and then ammend it with "OR just pop in the soundtrack to 'Heavy Metal' and you'll do fine."
Many of my fond memories from high school involve the numerous times I saw the flick at midnight madness. The dvd is worth it for extra content. There's a sequence that was completely cut from the original that's just trippy as hfil. The bomber graveyard's still mt fave though.

I seemed to like the whole sequence with Tarna... But there are a lot of sequences in addition...

That was the big finish, but the whole thing was just a "masterpiece of cinematography" hehe.

No arguments there. I still giggle when I think of the aliens in that one skit sniffing up that whole bag of powder... and the robot who picked up the secretary who wanted a 'jewish wedding'.
