Description Here it is at last. The finale. The last thing to talk about with Eeveelution Squad. My final sum up of the series, which could probably just have been read individually but oh well. I find it better to talk about the series as its happening and I'm reading it, so that I can point stuff out when it happens, because clearly when I try to go off memory, it doesn't always go right. And by the way, the collision between the MS Stockholm and the Andrea Doria DID happen. I have finally, at long last, found the proof. It was not a Mandela effect:

I knew it happened, I just forgot when. I also have no idea what's up with this either or where it came from.

oh yeah and I also found this that I forgot happened. Which states that Pearl's domestic terrorist attacks are ok because Black kicked Speedy in the face that one time, although she was doing it even before that happened.

So now with that out of the way, here is my final statement on the series, and it's a fairly long one, and I still have a lot to say after that as well:

So first off I'll admit the start of the series is not bad. Asides from the characters not having names at first and a couple of other little things, the series was pretty good for a while. Like a year and a half or so. Hell, even after it's revealed that Speedy was once famous, the series didn't feel complicated yet.

Then we got the Special Chapters. The goal at first was simple: explain how everyone evolved, even though we sure as shit never saw how Blaze, Frank, Brian, or hell any of the adults evolved. But more on that later. The first one started off simple enough. And then around halfway through the virus is introduced. Ok not even that bad yet. It honestly would have been if there was just this virus that existed that turned Pokemons into zombies, that would be fine. Hell Eeveelution Eclipse by PKN-133 (great series, I reccomend) did the same thing, with a zombie outbreak, and yet it was kept nice and simple so that the rules didn't have to be explained in three different oil spills, and still not make sense. However I think its fate was sealed once Flare got infected. With this, there had to be more, and that decision was FATAL in my opinion. That in my opinion was the "jump the shark" moment for this series. And it only got worse from there. Cue Santa Barbara Oil Spill.

Luckily the other Special Chapters showed off how the others evolved, and didn't make the universe THAT much more complicated. And hell, if it even left on the first oil spill, it probably would have been fixable. But no, it wasn't the last. And each one sunk it further and further.

Now cue chapter 5. I don't remember if I ever said this, but I had thought it since I read the series for the first time, but I did once think that chapter 5 was the peak of the series. Honestly that's not the case. Sort of. It is pretty funny, also Three Mile Island makes a cameo, but I would put it around the same place as the first four chapters. Because this one does have issues. First off is the obvious: the name inconsistencies. I do think though that this is the first time Lazuli's name is ever said, so that's something I guess. Second off, I have in fact deduced what the difference between Black and Gai is I think. Although it's incredibly subtle. But what I HAVEN'T figured out yet is the difference between Gai with and without gel. That is still a really weird joke to me.

Whatever now we're back to Special Chapters for some reason, and the normal chapters never return for reasons I don't know. The first couple are fine, although Chapter 8 seems to fit in between like Chapters 1 and 2, or 2 and 3 in the timeline. 7 also had a weird Mandela effect for me where I thought that Pearl actually stated her true colors, and Black actually got pissed about this and fucking ignored her, leaving her devestated, but I could not actually find this. Now chapter 9 was chapter 9. I forgot which one chapter 9 was. Chapter 10 though was bad. It was just bad. Mainly because it had the real Exxon Valdez Oil Spill, which I had somehow forgotten about, and THIS. This right here was the point of no return for the series. Now it's more complicated than rocket science, or finding Malaysia Flight 370, or even figuring out why the hell the Yarmouth Castle caught fire. It was also really weird to me that Flare's mind had its own separate art style that eventually took over. 11 and 12a were unnoteworthy here really. Other than Lazuli's casualty and Kris being a new Russian Spy, not much happened that hasn't already been noted upon there. But now comes 12b. The big kahuna itself. The big grandaddy oil spill itself, Deepwater Horizon. And oh boy is this shit confusing. I swear to god they could teach an entire fuckin university course on this shit. Maybe 2. Not to mention that half of the cast doesn't appear, they all have collars for no explained reason, most of the adults have unknown methods of evolution, as does Gai kinda, and the artstyle switches to the new one, which is inferior in my opinion. Wow I really did not have that much to say on it, since most of it I've said before. What I haven't though is that I'm surprised at how consistent the series has been artistically. I mean considering the fact that it spanned a 5 year period of time, I thought there would have been more art style changes, like how there has been for... that one PMD comic I forgot the name and artist of, Explorers of Shadows I think it was. The Quilava one. I mean that one has been around for over 10 years now but still. I'm also drawing attention to SSEC, which has also artistically changed a lot over the years. As has BFDI.

In the end I just don't get the appeal of ES. I enjoyed it at the start. Chapter 5 was eh. But as a whole Quesadilla I don't get it. I don't get how people are fond of this somewhat mysterious incredibly sloppy mess that has more oil than America would if every state was Texas. That was a bad analogy... Dubai? Saudi Arabia? idk. Regardless, I just don't get it. Even though there were funny moments and I kept it fairly entertaining for myself with all of my stupid running gags that nobody, not even me has ever laughed at. But regardless, it was boring as hell and a complete slog to get through. One thing I will say though is that this is interestingly one of two Pokemon comics I have ever seen that actually legitimately ends and does not get cancelled. The only other one is this one I also found as a dub, Friday Flareon, except I haven't yet found that one on this website, if it's even here.

Now honestly my best guess as to why is quite simple: nostalgia. The main reason I labeled this as an "unpopular opinion" and not just a review is because I have seen a lot of people say how nostalgic they are for ES and that they love it as a result. I mean hell, I can even sort of relate to this, as there are plenty of things I am nostalgic for that probably suck, such as Inanimate Insanity, although I've only been watching it since it like 2017. In fact, I think this is the main reason why I prefer SSEC. I found it a good 2-3 months before ES, and I became accustomed to it, although that was still in like October or so of 2022. I really don't remember. And I still prefer it. I think it is superior. For many reasons, which I may go over some day. Speaking of that

I have a lot more to say about the future of my crap. First off, even though I hinted at BFDI being early on, I'm not 100% sure that it will be now. It will be the next BIG project, but I might do some smaller ones in between. And not just for this series. I might do the aformentioned SSEC review, although that will be a tough one since a, the series is still going and b, I don't know how I would divide it to review it. Like ES came out in very specific defined chapters. But for SSEC that isn't the case. BFDI will probably come before that, which does have the former issue, although this would be a good time to talk about it since BFDIA 6 came out recently, which even though I am also not very nostalgic for BFDI, was pretty surreal to see regardless. As for other possible reviews, I have a few. I know for a fact that a topic I will be covering somewhat soon is Acadeon. Because it's not even an oil rig fire. It's just the fuckin Ocean Ranger of Pokemon Comics. It just fuckin sank. I also think it's kind of overrated. I also got a suggestion from an actual comic creator, Ryder205, who suggested that I review his series, Eevee Tales. I might also review his other series someday, That Time I was Reincarnated as a Leafeon and now I'm Living with Eeveelutions Because God was High as Fuck, which is hilarious and worth a read for the title alone. Also because it solved a long time mystery of how the protagonists of PMD comics were chosen. I don't know yet which of these different reviews will come out first though. I might also talk about some other Pokemon comics that I've read, because I've read a lot. Although I know that I will probably upload at least 1 more 1900 Galveston Hurricane photo by the 15th. But that's not a guarantee. But the Crash at Crush discussion will still come out on the 15th I can say that much.
