I dont dispute that. But they were supposed to be technically advanced, with lightweight composites etc, and a bloody powerful engine. They ended up wieghing far too much, and being about as quick as a normal family hatch, hitting 60 in about 11 seconds.

Granted, it is a fairly heavy car, but for a standard DeLorean 0-60 comes up in about 8.5 seconds and they tend to top out at around 130mph.
Here in the UK most owners end up removing the catalytic convertor from the exhaust system which alone can give you another 10-20 horsepower.
And technically advanced? I can't name another production car to this day which features totally corrosion-proof stainless steel body panels

Thank you... I dont understand the obsession with these cars. I knowthey went from drawing board to production in 18months, and aparently thats good, but really dont understand the obsession.
