I'm thinking about creating a woad design incorporating some of this. Something like with the bear's head and neck on the forehead, like the eye circle was his shoulder. I'll definitely link to you if/when I post a pic.

By all means, go right ahead! As long as it is for non-profit use.
I do request two things from anyone considering to use my artwork. Because my artwork is my income I would like to ask anyone who wants to use a certain image for non-profit use to send me a wee donation. This can be whatever amount you feel fit, a small payment to support the artist. The second thing I ask is if people could send me a picture of the finished result, as I do love seeing the finished result!

I'm hoping to gather enough skill to create my own "illuminated text" out of a conlang script I've created and the culture I've created for a fictional universe. It's a big project, but I think I can do it, and I need a bear image in knotwork.. this'd be perfect if you don't mind me borrowing it? I'll linky of course.

I found this on the internet a long time ago while searching for a tattoo! Are you the original artist? I have no tattoos at the moment, but I am seriously thinking about getting a U.V. tattoo. I would love this pic, it has meaning in both ethnicity and animal

do you first draw the creature itself, and once you've got the satifactory outline, then create the knotted interior?

No worries, as long as you tell the tattoo artist that it's a one time onl thing, and he/she is not to make further tattoos of it..
