I imagine the shattering of Pink Diamond was kind of an accident in the heat of the battle. Rose probably just intended on poofing Pink Diamond but ended up striking her gem instead of her physical form.

No one can be just sunshine and rainbows... I bet she didn't want to do it but had no choice... And not only that, Jasper must of been very close or looked up to Pink Diamond if she literally screamed that line to Steven/Rose.

I'm still tied to the two possibilities that Rose or Lion could be pink Diamond. I know eyeball ruby says Rose was another quartz soldier and the one who shattered her (Most likely unintentional) but...for all we know Pink Diamond could have been part of the rebellion, but when the diamonds learned and were about to kill her, a rose quartz saved her. She then could have adapted the identity of Rose quartz to honor her loyal soldier and continue the rebellion. or after she was shattered, the remaining energy gathered by rose to create lion. idk. I know eyeball ruby said she saw Rose kill Pink, but something still feels suspicious. After all, The rubies couldn't tell the difference between Amethyst and Jasper (let alone notice the gem on her chest) plus, unless it was another rose quartz, one of the diamonds could have shift-shaped into Rose so she could get the blame. Still...it's possible Rose did do it, but most likely unintentional. I mean she did keep so many secrets and based on Garnet and Pearl's reactions...who knows.

I think Rose wouldn't have known the full consequences of her actions until afterwards. But I've also heard of a theory that Rose didn't actually shatter PD and that it was Pearl shapeshifted as her? Maybe!

Maybe...and if she didn't shatter Pink Diamond, maybe she took credit for it to keep the real perpetrator from being caught. (that's another theory, other than a weird possibility that Pink wanted Rose to kill her, but I doubt that one)

Man, I never thought Rose would do something that evil. Shattering a gem...a diamond. That episode has now changed the way I view Rose Quartz.

Evil? I doubt she had a choice. They were in a war, and the diamonds were intent on wiping out the Crystal Gems plus eradicating the Earth of life. Rose may have well been justified.

Well you never know with Rebecca Sugar.
Somebody on tumblr was theorizing that Rose was made by Pink Diamond to start the rebellion. Because her healing tears and powerful shield are good weapons to start a rebellion. Which means Pink Diamond made Rose the spark of the rebellion. And what better way to start a rebellion than killing a powerful leader?
Pink Diamond figured Rose could heal her with her tears, but unfortunately it didn't work. That's why Rose was experimenting on gem shards, she was trying to heal Pink Diamond. And the trauma from shattering her diamond could explain her stance on not shattering anyone.

I never heard of that theory before. It's definitely interesting,and Rose does have some unique powers but I'm not quite sure if I believe it but, like you said, you never know with Rebecca Sugar. She has given us a lot of plot twists already

It adds so much to her character imo. Leading people, especially in a war, is hard and you have to make some tough calls... I hope we get an episode about it! I think her having shattered a diamond adds to how much of a pacifist the crystal gem movement was, it's like she never wanted to do it again.
