Rustle, rustle, rustle. 

A calico head popped out of the Nursery's entrance. Her lime-green gaze flicked around. Coast is clear, She snorted, Literally. The small kitten ran out of the Nursery. Today, she was allowed to explore camp. But, instead of exploring with her siblings, she wanted to explore alone. It was a lot funner that way. The kitten stood in place, frozen, her eyes were the only thing that moved. She searched the camp, to see if she could spot any of the deadly elders, or grumpy warriors laying around who might get in the way of her exploration of camp. She had only been out of the Nursery once, so she didn't really know her way around yet... But she thought maybe she could figure it out on her own.

Marigoldkit spotted a den, and her ears pricked. She would start at that den and work her way around. She trotted in its direction, and she was perfectly aware of the cats watching her and purring as she padded towards the den. Suddenly, a strong scent wafted from inside. It smelled... Different. It smelled like plants, and herbs. What kind of cat lives in a den full of herbs? She thought as she padded closer. The kit wouldn't stick her head in, out of politeness, but would instead call out, and ask if she could enter afterwards.

"Um... Hello?" She mewed at the den's entrance.

Today Shallowpaw woke up in his new nest located in the medicine cat's den. It was his fifth night out of the nursery sleeping with Mapleblossom rather than his siblings and it was a lot lonelier in here. They would be sleeping in the apprentice's den now with the rest of the apprentices. He hoped they were doing okay, since they would be training to become warriors now, he didn't want them to hurt themselves. 
His training with Mapleblossom was going well, despite it only starting a quarter-moon ago. At the moment, she had him sorting the herbs and memorizing what they were called and where they went. While he did that she had gone out to gather the herbs they were short on, telling him that she would bring him out to gather herbs with her some other time. 
He was just reaching up on his hind legs to place put the beech leaves the correct spot when he heard a she-cat's voice call out into the den. Quickly he placed the leaves down on top of the others and turned his head to see who was there. "...hi" he replied nervously "...do you need something?

Marigoldkit jumped back as she heard a voice coming from inside the den. She cautiously crawled into the entrance, and spotted a short, blue-ish gray tom with white paws, and darker stripes. The small kit cocked her head curiously. "I-uh... D-don't need anything," she mewed quietly, but she was still eyeing the cat curiously. "Wh-what's your name? And why do you live in a den full of herbs?" The kit's already high-pitched mew squeaked as she spoke. The kit stared around the den in awe, her little pink tongue sticking out of her short muzzle. Her lime green set on the small tom again. Marigoldkit couldn't tell if he was an apprentice or not... Or why he had such tiny legs.

When he couldn't see who called out into the den, he pushed away from the stone wall and gracefully landed back onto his front paws. A few pawsteps later and he was face to face with a small calico she-kit; One of the youngest in the nursery; Marigoldkit. 
"uh- Shallowpaw." he replied quietly before turning back around. There were still a few more bundles of leaves for him to put away before he could move on to the roots... Surely she wouldn't mind if he continued to do his work? Her next question made him turn around to look at her. Did she not know about medicine cats yet?
"I'm Mapleblossom's apprentice." he explained, "...That means I'll be the next Medicine cat"

nosing in the nursery, cheetahpaw had finally had a moment to escape from her mentor tidestar and see the kits. she hadn't met the kits face to face, however she had seen a few of them once or twice attacking their sister coconutpaw. what where their names again? frostkit..birdkit..um...rainkit...? no that couldn't be right,l cheetahpaw was sure of it. once the young spotted cat's eyes finally adjusted to the dark den she soon realized to her disappointment that all the cats where asleep. well she better leave before she woke any body, she wouldn't want to get on aspenstar's bad side.

Shallowkit was one amongst those cats, sleeping soundly in between his brothers and sisters. The day before he actually spent most of his time playing mossball with Turtlekit. It impressed him how skilled he was with the ball, he even learned some tricks himself! But the day ended quickly and when he got back into the nursery, he was extremely tired. As soon as he flopped down on the sand, he was fast asleep.

about to leave, cheetahpaw hadn't realized to remember how tiny some of the kits were.  thinking she had stepped around all the sleeping kit, cheetahpaw began to clumsily leave the nursery. placing one paw infront of the other without looking were she was going. if only she checked for a few more kits. if only. for when she looked down she realized she had stepped with all her weigh on a tiny frail looking black tom. jumping off as soon as possible the spotted she-cat with a feathered tail and curled ears mewed in a hoarse whisper "are you okay? um..darkkit...?" she said, guessing at his name by his looks.

Laying in the sand beside his brother, Crowkit and his sister, Pipkit, Shallowkit was dreaming. He was crouching at the edge of a great creek, only it was much, much bigger. There were thousands of little silver fish swimming down stream, and he was going to catch one! Quickly, he thrust his paws into the freezing water and tried to scoop up a fish, but they were too slippery. All the fish his claws were able to touch just slipped past. When he pulled his paws out of the water he was disappointed, but he couldn't let all these fish just swim away. So he tried gain, but to no avail. He was just about to jump in when he was wrenched out of his sleep by something large pressing down hard on his side. 
Loudly, Shallowkit squeaked and flailed his tiny legs when he felt the weight of the she-cat's paw on his side. Never in his life did he expect to get stepped on, not that he knew who did step on him. When he heard the other cat's unfamiliar voice, he flinched away, his fur standing on end. Who was in here? He didn't recognize this cat. She must have been the one to wake him up. His side still hurt from that... He didn't reply, he just stared up at her, his eyes wide with fear.

"oh oh honey...so just calm down relax...." said cheetahpaw. she was so immature herself, it was difficult  handle for her to handle kits. oh she preyed he wouldn't cry and wake up his siblings or worse his mother aspenstar. gently she licked the top of the small black kit's head. he was a bit far from his siblings so she planned on moving him closer once she was certain he wouldn't cry and get her in trouble. oh how her older cousin was so much better at dealing with kits, all kits loved lynxspark! cheetahpaw was certain her own children would hate her and love who ever decided to deal with the goofy cat as a mate."ill do anything to keep you calm..." she whispered "ill sing to you if I have to...." she said a bit panicky as she flicked her tail nervously.

I will start:

Turtlekit was curled up by his warm mother in the nursery, not wanting to get up, even though the morning sun had dappled the nursery floor. He let out a meow of irritation as the sunlight spread to his nest, leaving him engulfed in the light. How come I always have to get up! I just want to stay warm for a little longer.. He thought, trying to block out the sun. But the birds were starting to get noisy outside, so he stretched his fore paws, and drew away from his mother's soft belly. Both of his siblings were up by now, which wasn't a surprise. He went over to the entrance of the nursery, and peered outside. Most of the kits were play-fighting, and he would rather not get involved in that sort of rough-housing. He went to a corner with some shade, and rolled around a moss-ball that was near his paws.. If only I had someone gentle to play moss-ball with~

It was earlier than usual, but Shallowkit was laying in the shade near the fresh kill pile. It must have been hotter today, because he couldn't bring himself to stay out in the sun for as long as he wanted to. He was just glad he didn't have longer fur like his dad. It was good to get out and run around with his siblings, even if he didn't really like all their games. He could do without the play fighting and racing, but it was still fun. 
Right now, Shallowkit was okay with his situation, considering that the others had all decided to play fight. They looked like they were having a lot of fun. It was then that he noticed one of Crystalshimmer's kits peek his head outside of the nursery. It was Turtlekit. His light fur almost seemed to glow as he glanced at both of their siblings playing together. He didn't move to join them though, favoring a spot in the shade a little ways off from where he was relaxing.  He must not be interested in their game either. He didn't know much about Crystalshimmer's kits, despite living right beside them. They were all three moons older than him, and he knew that they would very soon become apprentices according to what he's heard from the conversations he had listened to. It was very interesting listening to the older cat's conversations. He was able to learn a lot from just listening, things that he would probably missed if he wasn't so nervous around them. Turtlekit looked a little lonely though, rolling around that ball of his along the sand like that. Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to talk to him? Even if he was quite a lot bigger than he was... 
Getting up onto his paws, Shallowkit hesitated for a moment before walking over to the older kitten. He felt a little nervous, having never directly spoken to him before, but he was optimistic. It couldn't be too bad right? 
As he walked up to him, his tail twitched, just barely touching the sand as he waved his tail. He didn't know really how to start a conversation with him, so he ended up just greeting him with a quiet, "...Hi, Turtlekit."

Turtlekit froze suddenly as a shadow was cast at his paws, but when he looked up, he relaxed, realizing who had just approached him. "Hi Shallow~" He meowed, his voice was always naturally gentle and affectionate, which was a good quality for him since he was timid, and couldn't make friends by play-fighting and etc. Turtlekit noticed that the smaller kit was a bit nervous, Because of my size. He automatically guessed, because of his smart nature. He rolled the moss-ball softly over to shallowkit's feet. "Wanna play?" He asked the smaller kit, knowing that he wouldn't be too rough since he was smaller. Now that the sun was out of his face, he noticed shallow kit's sleek black pelt and deep sea-blue eyes. I wonder what I look like? He wondered, taking a look at his tail. It was white with a grey diamond and a lighter grey tip. He really wished he could see the rest of his pelt.. I can just ask shallow.. He thought, but passed it away for the moment so that they could play moss-ball first.
