Description This is concept art for a personal project which I am currently working on. First ever serious attempt at digital art or the use of DAZ and GIMP. I'd welcome any comments, thoughts etc people have regarding this piece

Daz Studio, GIMP. Smoke, flame and cracks using Rons brushes ([link] ).

"When our world opened to the universe through The Portals a great many creatures began to invade our realm. Many did not adapt to the conditions on this planet and perished immediately. Others made the transition with ease.
The Aesghul (or Ash Wraith) is neither one or the other. Believed to hail from far distant, burning stars, the Aesghul is a creature of flame and blazing heat. Everywhere these creatures travel a trail of destruction follows and it is fortunate that these beings are unable to survive for long on our homeworld, for if they did it is sure that they would inflict incredible damage upon the lands. Luckily the Aesghul, upon travelling to a world not made of fire and warmth, quickly cool upon exiting the portals, rapidly freezing into solid, rock-like statues, their skin hardening until they are unable to move. It is thought that even in a frozen state the Aesghul retain conciousness for a time, their pain and hatred clear for all to see engraved upon their faces."

Just splash a bit of water on the guy and he's done for.
Seriously though, I really like the lighting and atmospheric effects ya got here.

Hmmmm, that'd make it a hell of a lot easier to fight them... and if you had enough water to completely cover one you might even end up with a fancy statue for your garden!
Thank you

I love it, love the pose, the description, the colors. I thing what you did with Rons Brushes is subtle, unique and brilliant. Oh, yeah, and it is creepy!

How did DAZ figure into this?

The base figure, weapon, trees and background were all made in DAZ. I just painted over the original render in GIMP with layers to darken the skin, trees, grass and add the cracks in the skin as well as the smoke and flames.

Thank you! I was hoping to get that reaction from people. I tried, as best I could, to make the picture disturbing and creepy, as well as to convey the wrathful and pained nature of the creature. I'm glad I managed to get it across
Thank you for the feedback!
