Even great egrets get sick of the water when the Myakka river floods the park. We had gators on the road, night herons up at 3:00 pm, and water birds like this guy on branches all day.FYI...Night herons are too stupid to get out of the road. They just can't figure it out. I have no good shots because they are all standing on the pavement.

I always thought these guys were beautiful, just love their elongated shape. Or as my grandma calls them "ergrets" she also says "Warshington" and "motor-sickle"

They are beautiful. Someday I will learn how to shoot them well. This guy was in a tree, under trees, and he's still overexposed in places.

This issue is reading the manual makes me fall asleep. Nothing sinks in. I have this great camera that can do all sorts of cool things if you understand the settings, but I mostly just drool and push the button.

I can't agree more. Oooh sports setting must mean I can take photos of moving objects but there is always one blurry spot. I think I posted one years ago of a horse that is in focus yet the grass in the infield was blurred. I liked the dapples so much I kept it. Plus I like the feel of holding the camera. It's like a book, there is something about the smell and turning of pages that can't beat a downloaded book. Call me crazy but I love the smell of books in the library, it brings me back to my childhood.

Well, first of all, phones be cool and all that but they don't have optical zoom. Second, my hands need something substantial if I am to have any hope of holding it still.
I was just talking to about the book thing. I could do a lot with the space all these bookcases take up but I wouldn't trade them!

My boss and I were talking about it yesterday, yes you save room but I would rather have the book or CD. What happens when my computer crashes? I just can't take that chance, unless it was a free download.

I have a CD right here from Popcap games. Zuma...which I am good at and have been playing for years. Yeah. When I got this new computer we couldn't install it. I still have the registration codes but they are going...nowhere in cyberspace. Tis all gone. I is sad. I can get it for my X-box...but I have to pay for it again. It's not much but I am resisting on principle. (No illusions I won't crack someday, but not yet! That'll show em!)
