"Day two of Shark Week brings us the Kaimeran sleeper shark, a large deep sea predator. They are believed to be descended from the common ancestor of the Greenland shark, attaining similar dimensions and coming through the portal some 3 million years ago. With great depths filled with bountiful food, these sharks have quickly become one of the dominant mesopredators and scavengers of the depths. Like the Greenland shark, they are exceptionally long-lived and their meat is toxic. They hold a place of reverence to the To Katon people, who believe they are keepers of the most ancient secrets."
