Description Following the conclusion of the first Klaeg invasion circa the Earth year 600 BCE, elders from the five clans that united during the conflict decided to maintain this pact for mutual protection. These clans were Viper (the healers), Firebird (the diplomats), Boar (warriors of the land), Salmon (warriors of the river and sea) and the Osprey (sentries). They feared that the Klaeg would come again from across the great abyss, and that they would need to be ready. The Firebird clan was sent to the south to try and rally the Children of the Lakes to the south. It was believed that this clan was lost to the jungle or slaughtered by the Children of the Lakes, for they did not return.

In the centuries that followed, the Confederacy remained strong, although two other factions of united tribes had formed: the Panther clans and the clans of the Spine. It wasn't long before the Panther Union and the Boar Clan came to territory disputes that escalated to war. The Panther Wars was a brutal conflict that lasted centuries, mostly fought between the Shadow and Boar warriors and Panther fighters to the south.

At the height of this conflict, some 800 years ago, the Panther Wars were shaken by an invasion not by the Klaeg to the east, but the Children of the Lakes from the southwest. The lands of the Great Lakes were no longer accepting of Kaimerans. Thousands of warriors and civilians carved a line through the Panther Union. The Ghost Clan, leaders of this faction, established their new territory. Although the Confederacy prepared for this invading force to carry on northward, the group that marched into their lands declared themselves descendants of the Firebird clan.

Quick to accept this alliance in a brutal conflict that had become a stalemate, the Confederacy returned the Firebird clan their ancestral lands in the east, and the Boar Clan happily offered the Lake Spirit clan lands on their southern coast. The Panther Wars continued for another century, mostly in the form of skirmishes between independent warbands, but the Ghost Clan cutting the union in half combined with their domesticated u'ruekil cavalry meant that the Panther Union was too fractured to continue a full-scale war. Although the elders agreed to a truce, tensions remained high.

Around 400 years ago, the Panther Union attacked the Confederacy with a new ally: the United Clans of the Spine. With fresh fighters who were concerned about the growing influence of the Confederacy, the Second Panther War was shaping up to be even more brutal than the last. The Confederacy was also contending with a logging dispute with members of the Cha'Khati Empire and newly-formed Qajarith Republic. Some members of the Confederacy thought they should request aid from one of the two foreign factions. Others feared their growing influence.

In a dispute that would later be called the War of the Three Spears, loggers from the Republic and Empire came to blows which swiftly escalated to a declaration of war between the two fought on Pakardiant soil. Each faction vied for involvement, and it seemed the Panther Union might call for aid from the Republic. All this changed when soldiers from the Republic brutalized Confederacy warriors and civilians in ways that the Panthers could not abide. Elders from all three Pakardiant factions came together and agreed that it was in the best interest of all involved to unite against this invading force.

The Pakardiant Confederacy was now made up of the original Confederacy, the Children of the Lakes, the Panther Union, and the United Clans of the Spine. Together this united force was able to cast out both Imperial and Republican troops, and together signed the Teshoko Treaty with leaders of both groups that they would stay out of Pakardiant affairs in exchange for the Pakardiant remaining neutral in affairs between the two.

Although tensions remain high due to the history of its formation, the Pakardiant Confederacy remains strong. As several small Klaeg invasions have come to their shores in the past century, the Pakardiant have fought as one. This united force has become one of the strongest factions in Kaimere.
