The lack of colours is better. It sets a nicer mood that's not over-powered by having colours in it. It makes you focus more on her expression.

The entire scene is fantastical(that's fantastic and magical)the blurred contents of the background and your friends outfit make me think your friend is a character in a sherlock Holmes book or maybe a scientist or I dunno! it keeps me guessing and I'm in love.
What I'm trying to say is you set a very good scene-purpose or not- and she is a subject of mystery. who is she? why does she have that expression? what does the background and her clothes say about her?
