Considering how homophobic our own species can be, I always wondered how a "Warrior race" like the Saiyans would handle such a subject. Would it be like ancient Greece and Rome where no one bats an eye, or would it be more of a persecution. I.E. Russia and China's policy.
Also proposing with food. Proof that you can take the Saiyans out of primeval settings, but you can't take primeval thoughts out of Saiyans. I wonder if Universe 6 Saiyans do this as well. Considering Caulifla is more of an archetypal Saiyan, I think it's a possibility. Maybe not as much as Universe 7, considering Universe 6 Saiyans seem to be more reserved, and restrained than their Universe 7 counterparts. (At least where Cabba, and Renso are concerned. I think they might be the norm as well. Caulifla is more of a Universe 7 Saiyan, and probably a personality throwback. To when Universe 6 Saiyans where as aggressive as their Universe 7 counterparts.)

I was thinking they will be like the Romans about it. Because their moral standard is different from us. They are warriors so if it doesn't affect their ability to fight they should be okay with it xD I even believe mostvsaiyans are bisexuals. Though there could be homophobicsout there.
I never thought about Uni 6 saiyans. Hmm maybe it's still a part of the proposal gifts, but not as important as in Uni 7. I made saiyans propose with food because food is a very essential thing for saiyans. And like no one would want to share their food, but if one does, it means you are special. Also I think the food for proposing must be collected/made/killed by the proposer themselves x33 cause that is cute.

Yeah, ancient Greece also had the same sensibility toward homosexuality. Spartans where probably the most notorious for it, and of course the most brutal. I could see a subsect of Saiyans that are homophobic, and have a problem with such a mindset, and see it as counter productive to increasing the population, in order to have more warriors, so they can conquer more planets.
Yeah, considering how the Saiyan metabolism is; it's not a surprise that food is considered one of the most valued things in their society. If you're willing to share with another, then that other must be important to you, so that's a gesture of love. I could also see this evolving into what you said, where the proposal must be collected/made/killed, by the one making said proposal. I am going to work on your head cannon here. I think depending on how much the proposee eats, is an indication of how long the union will last. If the proposee only takes one bite, then the union is doomed to fail. If they eat half, then the union will be average, and last about a decade or so. If they eat the whole thing, then the union will last forever, and is seen as a bond that cannot be broken, even by death. I think that's about as romantic as most Saiyans get, and it would be funny seeing Gine wolf down Bardock's proposal, and licking the platter clean. XD

Yeah, some saiyans like my other OC Betrote would rather have as many babies as possible. (But since his favorite uncle Remongasu is gay, he is not homophobic xD) some would want more saiyan cubs to conquer like you said, and some like Betrote just wanted his own little kingdom to be the king of haha
Aww I like your idea. It helps the saiyan show their answer without embarrassing themselves haha Cause we all know they hate confessing feelings. The Bardock and Gine thing is adorable too. Though it would be funnier if she didn't understand and thought he just gave her food to eat hahahaha I actually have a Bardock proposing to Gine pic, it's a collab with a friend. I will post it within this week i hope!

Yeah, that's about the only reason I can see, as to why Saiyans would hate homosexuality. It does nothing to increase the population, and doesn't help a war effort at all. It's just impractical in the eyes of the hard-line war hawks, and seen as meaningless pleasure, and self indulgence. If it doesn't help win wars, then it's something that is unnecessary. That's about as deep as the hatred toward homosexuality runs.
Yeah, Saiyans are not known for their emotional empathy. So it does give them a way to bow out, or a way to accept excitedly. I look forward to seeing the pic, and I think it would be funnier if Gine didn't understand, but I think it might be OOC, for her. Gine (At least from your interpretation) Seems like a romantic, and I find it hard to believe she wouldn't understand one of the oldest traditions of her people.

Well good news for them though, since they have those incubators they might be able to make children for the same sex couples. Like maybe thet just need an egg-cell from a female, then insert the dna from the couple and they can grow that baby in the incubator! (Kinda like what they did in Jurassic park xDdd). My friend and I talked about it yesterday, and made 2 kids for Mint and Remongasu while we were at it XDDDD

Yeah, a lot changed for Saiyans, once Freeza showed up. Like the extinction of the entire race for some reason. I mean Planet Vegeta wasn't the only Saiyan planet. It literally couldn't be. If you have too many Saiyans on one planet, you get what happened on their home world Planet Salada. Civil war, mixed with total annihilation of the planet. There can only be a given number of Saiyans on any given planet, because they are way too aggressive otherwise. So when the Arcosians (Yes I know they only appear in the English dub, but I think they are the same race as Freeza, Cold, Cooler, Chilled, and Frost. Mainly because I hate the idea of calling an entire race Freeza Race.) showed up, they basically gave nukes to cavemen. Instead of working things out like the Universe 6 Saiyans, the Universe 7 Saiyans basically never resolved their aggression, and it was only encouraged.If you've never played the Mass Effect series, there is a race called the Krogans, they look like this: vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/m… Basically the same problem as the Saiyans. Too aggressive, too bloodthirsty, and too much for the galaxy to handle. They where uplifted by the Salarians: vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/m… To help fight a war against the Rachni: vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/m… Problem was once the war was over, the Krogans still wanted a conflict. So the Salarians had to create something called the Genophage in order to curb the Krogan birthrate because they multiplied like rabbits. So it's a similar problem with the Saiyans. The thing that doomed the Saiyans, was their aggression. Not just Beerus, not just Freeza, it was unchecked Saiyan aggression. Something that never got worked out, and never helped the Saiyans in the long run. If the Saiyans weren't so aggressive, then they could have been their Universe 6 counterparts. Or maybe they would have something else. Point is, I refuse to believe that all the Saiyans died on one planet. I also think that they could have been great, if they worked out their aggression.

Fact is me and my friend believed saiyan population isn't that big of a number because casualty is high and because many of them care little about making babies with the exception of the royalties maybe. Though once the Incubator were introduced there have been more children and some saiyans began to enjoy parenthood.
In my stories the saiyan were becoming less aggressive than before and was learning to work together, which is why Freeza was concerned about them overthrowing him. Before that he believed they were a race doomed to fall because of their aggression and savage ways. But since he provided them with a job that helps with their aggressiveness, they slowly ceased fighting each other. Like they could go mascare an entire race on a planet somewhere or go kill a buncha saibamen till they are bored.
Also yeah I believe there are still many saiyans out there, just that the galaxy is too big you don't meet them lol

Yeah, like I said, emotional empathy is not a Saiyan strong suit. So I could see how child rearing isn't high priority. Considering that if you put too many in one place, they try to rip each others heads off. So yeah, once Freeza showed up, introduced tech; and an outlet for aggression, that shifted. Still Freeza is not one to have anyone be stronger than him, and considering Saiyans get Zenkai boosts, on top of getting stronger in battle, then yeah. Freeza knew it was only a matter of time, before one or more became strong enough to challenge, and possibly kill him. That's why when Beerus came, and ordered him to destroy planet Vegeta, he was more than happy for the excuse.
Well Tarbel is an example of another Saiyan coming out of the wood work. I'm sure there are more out there, they just learned to keep their heads down, because Freeza was still a threat. I'm sure news hasn't reached them yet, although Freeza has been hanging around in Super so who knows.
