Regarded for a lot of fans as the greatest legend of Blues, Robert Leroy Johnson was born at May 8th, 1911. Therefore, today he would be centennial if he was alive!!!

He died at August 16th, 1938, when he was only 27 years old, supposedly for poisoning, and making him regarded as the “precursor” of the "curse of 27" (age at which many rock idols died and, as Johnson, almost always for tragic way, such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Brian Jones, Jim Morrison e Kurt Cobain). There are some who say his death is associated with the supposed pact he’d have done with the devil to become a great guitarist, what he really was….

Would be Rock’n’Roll have nowadays all tradition we know without Johnson’s influence!? Impossible to answer.....

Made directly with ink (0,2 and 0,3mm) above Canson paper 200mm².

A great piece of art.  I know the Stones were great fans of Robert Johnson.  It's sad when these people die so young - so much talent that died with them.

Not only Stones, but a lot of great musicians pay their tributes to Johnson, such as Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, etc. Unfortunately we don't know so many things about his life, but the mistery about it makes the person Robert Johnson more fascinating to discover!!
