Description This is my entry for Nightfell's contest. I chose catagorie 1 and used a scene from the Musical 'Phantom of the Opera' with the characters Bain and Nightfell. The picture has turned out really dark on this computer, I did it on mine and it was much lighter so I might try to fix that.

Time Taken: Roughly 10 hours

Night-time sharpens,
heightens each sensation . . .
Darkness stirs and
wakes imagination . . .
Silently the senses
abandon their defences . . .

Slowly, gently
night unfurls its splendour . . .
Grasp it, sense it -
tremulous and tender . . .
Turn your face away
from the garish light of day,
turn your thoughts away
from cold, unfeeling light -
and listen to
the music of the night . . .

Close your eyes
and surrender to your
darkest dreams!
Purge your thoughts
of the life
you knew before!
Close your eyes,
let your spirit
start to soar!
And you'll live
as you've never
lived before . . .

Softly, deftly,
music shall surround you . . .
Feel it, hear it,
closing in around you . . .
Open up your mind,
let your fantasies unwind,
in this darkness which
you know you cannot fight -
the darkness of
the music of the night . . .

Let your mind
start a journey through a
strange new world!
Leave all thoughts
of the world
you knew before!

Take you where you

Thanks! Sadly I don't anymore as I am just too busy with other projects. But thank you very much, this was actually one of my older pieces so I am glad it is still noticed ^_^

Your very welcome. It was years ago I saw it on the stage and I'd love to see it on stage again but I was so happy when the most recent film came out with it. I watch the dvd all the time now.

beautiful work Ilyana!!! i love the attention to detail...the lanterns, rose, bricks, water...absolutely perfect! great work on fell and bain too, they are hard characters to do but you pull it off wonderfully

Thank you, I am glad you like it! To be honest I am not at all happy with the way the red wolf turned out, for once I maybe like the background better ^_^ Haha, I might try changing the brown fur as I think you are right....

don't even think about it! leave him exactly as he is! if i was going to do an animal POTO, i would have done exactly this (but not nearly as well, so won't bother). i love the slightly worried look in the grey wolf's (bain's?) eyes. this pic rocks my socks! *points to bare feet as proof*

Oh this is really cool! The fur on the animals is, of course, a little bizzare, but I really like that shade of red and the blue on the female's face. Your bricks are very cool, as is the water, but I'd caution against the line of brown fur down the male's back -- it makes him look like a hyena!

The rose and the lanterns are masterful.
