This costume is one of my pride and joys, currently. I spent countless dollars and hours on making this so I could cosplay with the lovely and wonderful ~WaterPuzzle and *maggifan who make such a wonderful Fai and Kurogane. While I still have a lot to learn about being a seamstress, I feel so accomplished when I look at this costume. All the hours of cutting and sewing and detail work, all the time I spent to find the perfect fabric--it all led to this kimono.
I know it's not perfect, and I will be fixing certain aspects of it here and there, but considering that a year ago today I couldn't have made this, I am so happy and so pleased. If anyone has any pointers, I am always happy to hear them. I want to only improve, and I can't do that unless I'm willing to learn.
Thank you, in advance, to everyone who favourites this particular cosplay. I really cannot express just how much it means to me when people like something that I put so much effort into.

very pretty! The fabric you choose for the obi and pink lining especially are so gorgeous, the way the light hits them. But I know, that stuff is a pain to work with!! >_< The last Sakura outfit I did had a lot of applique on it too... a combination of Heat n Bond adhesive and a wide satin stitch around all the edges made it work wonderfully though!
I'm actually in the process of making this same bird kimono now, as well aYuuko outfit for a con coming up... I'll definitely be posting pictures when I'm done, if you're interested in seeing them at that point lol~ Thanks for sharing! I love seeing other Sakura cosplayers!
