Dear Felisha,
It all started with a simple art trade about 4 years ago. At the time, I was living in Georgia and started 7th grade as a new kid at school.
I remember being shy, awkward and very devoted my art. I was very new to the art community and was shaky in talking to people online and in real life.
But when we started talking, ever after our trade, I didn't feel so awkward anymore. I felt like I could be myself, that I could talk, ramble, vent, just about anything honestly. I remember talking about our dreams and college and the future and our families for hours and hours.
We rambled about our stories and characters and helped each other build them and figure ourselves out. I know you have a special thing for my Rosie, but she wouldn't have been the wonderful character she is now if it weren't for your inspiration.
And despite me moving states twice since then, our friendship never changed. I've said goodbye and let go of so many friends at my old schools because of the distance that grew us apart. I was always sad when I deleted their numbers off my phone after months of un-returned texts. But we never changed. You are just as much as my friend now as you were then. And it means so much to me that you never gave up on me and you were always there for me to talk to when I was alone.
Now, even though we're literally on opposites sides of the country, it is time for a new chapter. Our lives are both changing drastically but no matter what I always have your back.
You have inspired me so much as an artist and as a person. Now my life is beautiful and I love myself and my art, and none of this would be possible if it wasn't for you. You are an absolute blessing to me, and I hope I somehow returned the favor. I hope you have an amazing day, and I promise someday I will be able to tell you this in person. Happy Birthday Fel
