Epoxy resin. The brand I used was Pebeo Gedeo color resin, because this was my first time doing resin casting and finding resin that was already colored seemed like a safer bet than trying to mix the color myself (it probably would've been pretty easy, I just didn't want to take the chance of screwing it up, plus the ruby color turned out to be perfect anyway). I think you can pretty much buy any other brand and color it with special resin pigments or food coloring, though. It took me a while to find a mold size that seemed right for the cloak and belt gems, but I found this one here: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A… . For the gems on the gloves I used one of those small plastic paint pallets from a craft store as the mold. Once the gems were cured I backed them with aluminum foil for extra shine.

For the most part I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, but pretty much all of them did end up with small scratches and imperfections on the surface, probably due to imperfections in the mold. But unless you're staring right at them with a magnifying glass, they look really great! Hope this helps.

No problem! I'm not sure whether I'll ever cosplay, but Raven would be high on my list. I'd have to do a lot of shaving, though.
