Description
This is Serah Farron from Final Fantasy XIII, she's one of my favorite characters out of all the RPGs I've played. I don't have any pencils except for the regular No. 2 pencil, so shading very dark is pretty hard, hopefully I can get some more pencil shading mediums. I use a smudgestick made of newspaper to smear instead of using my fingers.Mediums: Number 2 pencil, regular sketchbook paper, smudgestick (newspaper)

Yeah i like how gray it looks. I'd expect to see a big contrast from light to shadow, but yours is a lot more dulled, as you said with your eraser. I really like it

no problem, the current final fantasy characters are very difficult to draw, so i'm glad when someone takes a crack at it

This is so beautiful and pretty. The fact you took all the time and effort to do it in pencil (especially a number 2 pencil) Is really amazing. If I could do this, just, wow.

huwaaah...i like it, i like the character too. serah right, though i didn"t play the game, i like her appearance. cute and beautifull. she is one of my favorite ff chara, besides aerith.

I used a reference, I went online and found a picture of her and turned it black and white on Microsoft word.
I used a #2 pencil for drawing and a rolled up piece of newspaper as a smudgestick

It's fine, I'm not going anywhere:3 Someone had commented on my facebook, because I post myΒ art there for my family members and friendsΒ I know in personΒ to see. Well he said he could give me his Art Institute kit because he decided to stop going there. He was seriously an undercover artist when he was at my high school before he graduated, I had no idea he painted so amazingly (He specializesΒ with dragons, what a shame he stopped showing off his art)! He said he doesn't tell many people he's an artist because they always commission him for art and it gets annoying to him. Well he ended up giving me his whole art institute kit since he decided toΒ stop going there...and boy is it a lot of supplies! Premium grade too! So nowΒ I have charcoal and those fancy pencil that are designed specifically made for pencil shadings along with a bunch of other stuff I have no idea how to use yet! woohoo! I was real lucky.

Yeah there are some stuff that are in the kit that I just stare at and tinker with and have no idea what it is used for, especially because some of the stuff has no label or any familiar visual to my mind

I see. Well if you really have trouble figuring out what its for then you could post a pic of the item and see if anyone in the forums can identify it. Then one you have a name you can research it more. If you have an art supply store nearby then they may be able to help as well!
