Description Stygian Zinogre (Jinouga)!! [link]

He's this awesome giant thunder wolf wyvern thingy from Monster Hunter (3rd gen). I really love fighting this guy, and am really really happy that this new "Stygian" subspecies will be int he upcoming Monster Hunter Ultimate game!

I wanted to make a Zingore pic looking all majestic, but since I suck at posing animals... I just decided to do a head shot. Oh, and I took some (a lot) liberties on the design, since I can't find a clear reference pic. But I think this looks pretty much close to the original (NOT). Did this in the office the same way I did this pic ([link] ). Used a mouse and drew away during my break hours. Enjoyed it this time, because I made the scales bigger. XD

Nope, didn't have a Wii. I'm thinking of getting a Wii U though, but I'm still contemplating on the idea of buying a new console just for one game. That, AND I already have a 3DS, which I also bought just for MH. XP

Aw, it was really fun, especially when you use the wiimote instead of the controller. I still don't have a 3DS, I just have the original one that has the curve to it.

I forgot to time how long I made this. I worked on it on and off. Some days, just a few minutes.

And yeah, it's too bad Ultimate doesn't have online, but ho well. I'm just hoping the 3DS is more prevalent around here (which I think it is) so I can find some good hunting buddy on the road. XD

The WiiU version does, but I'm not about to blow more money on a newly-released console. Anyway, I think you'll have more luck looking for fellow hunters than me. I'm probably the only one with a 3DS where I am. |D Aaand I don't get out much. >.>;

asdfgh it's the Stygian Zinogre! As much as I love your artwork, I'm always blown away whenever you update but to see Monster Hunter artwork...! The detail! That ferocity! I'm pretty sure SZ is one of my favourite monster in the newest games, but to see it in your style is a treat in itself. Amazing work, I just love that sinister look with the darkness and crimson aura... it's one wicked beast for sure!

Thank you very much! I love Zinogre too! My second favorite monster in MH. I've wanted to draw MH fanart since forever. But I wasn't too confident in my painting skills. Wanted to practice a bit first, which explains the other painting style stuff in my scraps/gallery. I'm just glad I found somewhat of a middle ground between my old style and the one I was targeting. Makes things easier for me.

Well, all I know from the pics I've seen are that Zingore has a spikey squarey chin and big rodent-like scaley ears. The horns on the head and chin are a given. For me, as long as it has those, it'll look like a Zingore.

Diablos is badass. But I hated fighting that guy. My favorite would be Nargacuga, because he has a badass theme and a badass roar. He's just badass overall.

I've wanted to put MH stuff in ym gallery for a long time. But I just find it hard to draw/paint anything animal related. Need more experience/practice. DX

You should! it's great! With lots of action, drama, and tension. It's got a lot of shocking scenes though, if that's not your kind of thing.
