"He's probably having a dream, combined with the fractured memories of his past" Bass answered.
Protoman looked at Rhythm's face. "Dreams?"

This is my part of an art trade with !
He asked me to draw his OC Rhythm with any of the official characters from the Classic Megaman series. I was going to draw whatever, but thought I just might as well draw a scene from his story.
This is a scene from his 19 part Megaman fanfic "-4-2-nat0- ". It's about Rhythm, a mysterious robot who was discovered by Bass hidden behind a wall in an old mansion. The classic cast then go on trying to repair Rhythm, discovering more about themselves as well in the process. I wanted to draw something with Roll (of course). But as I was reading, fishing for a scene to draw... I came upon THIS part of the story. I thought it kind of reflected the story as I've read so far (only up to 11 right now
) so I chose it instead. Somber, touching, and mysterious!Oh, and Bass... you look somewhat off there, with that very uninspired pose. I so want to remove him, but I NEED him there! I wanted to redraw him, but I still don't know what I'm going to do with him!
Anyway, hope I did the source material justice. ^^

Damn, I so want to a watch a new Megaman anime. A bit bummed that the upcoming one is probably going to be styled ala Ben10, but it's better than nothing, I guess. ^^

Well that aside...don't feel bad about Bass. Yeah, sure the pose is uninspired, but it's Bass. He's like the Shadow the Hedgehog of the Mega Man series...just stands there during quiet moments. He's not much of a fun loving robot, is he?

Haha Proto's visor is extra trippy in my new sucky monitor with its very weak vertical viewing angle. I see pure shades when I slouch. Then I see the eye when I sit up straight.

I love how every time you draw Protoman, you always show one of his eyes peeking through the visor. It'd be just as easy (especially in a low-light environment like that one) to forgo bothering with the extra details. No one would blame you for it, but you put it there anyway.
Also love the effect of the lit doorway around Bass.
'Scenes' like this are very difficult for me. Even when I have multiple character in a picture, drawing each one from a different perspective always comes off as a bit 'odd' to me because I have to visualize each character on their own and draw them individually which disrupts the flow of the picture because it's usually too obvious that they initially weren't part of the same 'scene', so to speak.

I only drew him twice though. But yeah, if I ever got around to making a third... I would probably do the subtle peeking eye thing again. I just can't resist not doing it. XD
Yeah, I know what you mean about multi character pics. I think I already mentioned how I hate doing those, because I have a hard time making the characters look like they're interacting with each other naturally. For this pic though, it's a bit more simple. The characters don't really interact with each other. And you can't see the ground, giving the viewer only few proper reference points on where each of the characters are.

I love the dire feeling in this one. Even in Protoman's visible eye, it looks like there's a good bit of silent, weighted emotion there. Rhythm, while definitely worn down, looks really serene, and Bass... well, that's as tranquil as I'd ever expect him to get. Great work, buddy.

Haha I wanted to make Bass look much more tranquil. He was pretty mellow in the story. But I just couldn't resist putting that frown on him. XD

That aside, nice scene! Even though you say Forte's pose doesn't look quite good, I think it does look quite good. Forte's the type to not care what others think anyway. In fact, he'd most likely point out that he cared enough to stick around. That's what I think anyway. |D
I must say though, Blues stole the scene...Maybe because he's smack dab at the middle! *brick'd* But seriously, his expression, although hidden, is tense. Hehe, he's so cool in that pose. |D
