i'm sick of all those "meat is murder. be a vegfag" stamps everywhere. so this is a bit of a rebuttal, i suppose.

People have been eatinging meat since the beginning and vegetarian cultures are uncommon. Vegan cultures are nonexistent.

Hey, last time I checked,I'm pretty sure PLANTS are living things too. We literally have plant slaughter houses,we randomly kill plants because they are a ''nuisance'' in the family garden,we cut grass,we take BABY PLANTS AND UNBORN PLANTS AND EAT THEM because they taste good,we cut off their limbs for our convenience and apparently that's ''okay'' because plants can't feel anything. Why, grass releases a chemical after you cut it pretty much to warn other plants that there is a predator around. Besides, I'm pretty sure that just the fact that it's alive should be the only factor here and not because it can't suffer enough like most animals do.
Yeah, I know that they don't have the same brain as most animals do but how much you wanna bet that people would save a jellyfish from roasting on the beach even though it barely has any brain activity whatsoever?

Plus I only eat meat from certain farms and such, I don't eat those who do that. Adding those chemicals to fatten them up is honestly not natural.

I think that some people don't know that eating plants is killing something alive too; like the lettuce.

I respect vegetarians, but the human body NEEDS meat. And it's medically proven that we really need it. A plant won't give what fish or beef gives you.
I support animal rights, killing animals without reasons is horrible; but I'll always enjoy a good pork chop ~

I'm a vegetarian. I don't support unethical treatment of animals, and I wish farm conditions were (far) better, but the eating of meat itself is not inherently bad to me <3 I totally and completely support YOUR right to eat meat! I understand my lifestyle isn't for everyone, and that's fine! I volunteer at an animal sanctuary and I just feel bad eating the animals I see all the time, so I don't :>
And to your point that humans need meat… I've been vegetarian for months now and I'm actually far healthier than when I started! You just have to make sure you're eating plenty of protein in other things (you can also take vitamins to help supplement your diet) <3

gosh, no problem! The sanctuary I work at really stresses kindness, to all creatures (especially the less fortunate ones), so it's awfully strange to me to see my fellow vegetarians and vegans being so unkind to others for their choices. I'm glad you read my comment so you (hopefully) know not all of us are maniacs xD <3

I totally get how you feel, because the same thing is happening with Christians. I think people are just assuming the worst of everyone nowadays; My church stresses kindness so much that I find it strange not seeing other churches do the same. It's medically proven that people who don't eat meat are around 85% more likely to get sick, be anorexic, develop medical problems, have frail bones, lose their hair, etc. Meat is something a human body needs, it has essential nutrients and vitamins that a human should not go without. Fish won't give you those things, like some Vegans think it will. Also, non-meat-eaters are a LOT weaker physically.

OMG I had argument with some bitch who kept comparing meat to rape and torture. She also started talking shit when I pointed that our closest relative is the chimp and eats meat and then proceeded call the great researcher, Jane Good biased. Meat allowed our brain to grow to it's present day size. Tried to apply definitions to words in order to use them in her argument. Did not address not everyone can give up meat because their bodies don't functional well without it and that veggies are not readily available everywhere. Scientific Journal betray her.

I could not live without my meat products. genetics is an important part of how long you'll live not what you eat. though it does play a fiarly big part. even if it does kill me so will cigarettes, driving, alcohol, surgery, drunks, terrorists/religious zealots, wild animals, hypothermia, fall induced mass trauma, random gunmen, instantaneous combustion and a electrocution. I can justify eating meat as much as a vegetarian can justify eating plants and fruit.
