So, I stayed up late and drew this. Comment-muro was lagging and being dumb, so that made it take longer---and I spent some time planning out Chrestomanci fanart before I decided to switch

Anyway, on the left is Emma and the right is Eadric. They're from a book series called the Frog Princess by E.D. Baker. The Disney movie The Princess and the Frog is supposedly based off the series. Ya know, the princess kisses the frog prince but turns into a frog herself, but the similarities ABSOLUTELY end there (besides a crazy witch in the woods with a snake). The Frog Princess series takes place in a magical and made up universe and the 2 main characters are very different. I was in love with this series back in middle school, so I was going by memory here.
And they're aren't typically that lovey-dovey, not till later. A lot of the time they're arguing with each other

me too! i read the books for the first time in 4th grade, then kept re-reading them! i LOVE the books!!! and you're right, all similarities stop there! I loved the characters and the story!! (and i think that your art is the best Emma-and-Eadric pic there is!!)

I really enjoyed the Disney movie but the Frog Princess series really shaped my tastes in fantasy--there's a super special place in my heart for it.

However, I'm always surprised that this drawing still gets attention even after 2 years!!  It makes me want to some new stuff.  Thanks for the appreciation!

Thank you! That's awesome to hear even on this older art.
I love this series. It was probably the first series a I ever became passionate about, and I still read the books even though I started the first one...8 years ago, maybe.
I love hearing that other people love them too.

Its wonderful. i intend to collect each book and read them as i please. Eadric is one i enjoy reading about and love in the 6th book when he escorts the prince out of the castle.

I certainly hope you do draw more of them.
I was thinking about drawing them myself until I saw this picture. Now I can't get your design out of my head enough to come up with my own spin on Emma and Eadric, haha.
