Description This necklace took a month and a half of my life. Over 150 hours total. The base is made of circa 100 grams of glass beads and covered with over 600 grams of hematite. Yes, it weighs almost a kilo hehe by far the most elaborate piece i ever made

That's hæmatite? I'm impressed.

Most hæmatite I've seen has been dull, boring and red.

And there was the time we tried to make some in the lab. Ended up with something that looked like muddy water mixed with blood.

Even though I really have a strong (and completely irrational) dislike of hematite, I have to fave this piece, the rich heavy texture is perfect for the stone.

That is beautiful!! Hematite is so pretty and you've made it look 4635229 times more awesome than usual! What material did you use to string it all together? I hope you dont mind me asking!

i used thin nylon thread (0,15mm) and silverlined clear gray seed beads. probably 100 or 150 grams of seed beads and i don't know how many meters of thread

actually it isn't - it is quite symmetrical so it doesn't pull anywhere; it's kind of like your bag or purse - when you have it on for a while you don't even know it's there (but others do hehe)

Its so lovely I dont think Id mind the weight anyway! I know what you mean about forgetting its there though, I do that alot - mostly with my glasses, I always look for them when they're quite clearly on my face.

the shape is not accidental first i calculated how many beads go where (to get the correct trapezoidal shape) then i made the trapezoids (which are 3D, not flat - if they were flat they wouldn't hold their shape) and then covered them with hematite. so thank you very much for noticing the shape!

the beaded part was easy compared to the hematite part - the more i applied the more it got tangled up

i figured if i've spent so much time making it, it deserves a couple of extra shots it took me over 3 hours just to decide which ones to use and how to arrange them hehehe
it's not so heavy when you wear it, it is quite wide and the clasp is the same width - everything is balanced, so there are no stress points; the weight distributes itself evenly throughout the necklace so it is quite comfy

yea the bra tops ive made are also rather heavy (kilo or 2) but ive heard the weight is rather comfortable. funny how that works eh?????? i really like how you managed to keep the piece so "clean" eventhough you used chips of hematite. somehow chips creep me out LOL

i thought they were lighter but that's not too much for a bra - the standard ones with that silicone gel push-up filling weigh over a kilo for sure

lol i've never worn a silicone bra but i'll take your word for it

i guess chips freak me out becuase they are s irregularly shaped. i find them very difficuld to use LOL

the bras are normal, just the filling is silicone so you can't tell they're kinda weird when not worn, try squeezing one hehehe slippery
chips are horrible for small or detailed projects. they just refuse to stay in place. but if the goal is to make something a bit less tidy so i like to splash bunches of chips on my jewelry

kopča je ona magnetna iz perle, ona klizno magnetna, najveća, mislim da ima nekih 8 rupa i koštala je oko 17kn. tak nešto. kopča mi je super i puno je čvršća od onih pewter kopči koje prevladavaju u njihovoj ponudi (te se znaju pretrgnuti ko' keks). nažalost ovih magnetnih nisu više imali kad sam zadnji put išla u shopping pa sad nemam sa čime završavati te velike projekte
