A soft knock on the door, early in the morning.

Crest was confused, who would be visiting this time of the morning.

He headed over to the door and opened it up

Maw was standing there, looking sheepish.

His eye held a large scar across it, his arm was in a sling, and his body looked almost smaller than before.

"H-hey...Crest..."

"M-MAW!! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?! WHO DID THIS TO YOU? WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL THIS TIME?! CHII YOU NEED A DOCTOR!!" Crest exclaims, full of shock and concern. His hands hovered all over Maws body, wanting to hug him but afraid he will hurt Maw

Maw lowered his ears and looked like he wanted to cry. "C-can I please just...come in?"

"y-yes of course!! c-come sit down, ill get you something to eat and drink. When was the last time you ate anything Maw??" Crest says, ushering the fragile broken gro inside

"Four...days ago..." Maw said quietly, nearly falling onto the sofa.

Crest puts a blanket around Maw a runs into the kitchen, grabbing some water and some fruit before bringing it back to Maw "i-ill cook something up, just get this into you at least."

Maw nodded and ate the fruit before gingerly drinking the water.

He sat up and tried to move his arm, only wincing slightly.

Crest went back into the kitchen and started cooking up some rattle cattle steaks and puckoo eggs before bringing it back was a side of salad "here, y-you need protein and fats to heal." Crest says, putting the plate in front of Maw before remembering his injured arm

"i-ill cut it up for you," He added, quickly cutting everything into bite sized bits

Maw watched him a moment, then leaned heavily against his arm. "I went to walk...but I got lost...and panicked..."

"You were lost? In the forest? I should have come looking for you, more then just at your home and the town..." Crest says, internally kicking himself that he didn't look for Maw harder.

Maw looked away. "You couldn't have known where I was...I didn't even."

He shivered, looking to the food and taking a piece with his bear hands, eating it like it was the last thing he would ever have.

"I was so worried about you Maw, I thought that joke you made might have been real." Crest said, watching as Maw devoured the food.

Maw froze, a slice of steak in his hand.

He lowered his eyes and hand.

"I...I haven't...gone home yet. I....i'm too...scared..."

"r-really? y-your mother seemed worried when I spoke to her." Crest said

Maw hesitated, then turned away. "She wouldn't worry about me...you must have misread her."

"m-maybe, i dont know your mother but that is what it looked like to me." Crest said

"but regardless, im glad you are back" he added with a soft smile

"At least you are..." Maw mumbled, leaning heavily against Crest.

Crest put one of his arms around Maws shoulders "you know, you still need to go see a doctor" Crest says, pointing at Maws eye and arm

"Harlie said the scar healed and my arm is just hyper-extended." Maw said quietly. "It was much worse when he found me, but i'm healing."

Crest gave a small nod "if you are sure, can you see out of that eye properly?"

Maw nodded and opened the eye.

The lid was split and still healing, but his eye looked undamaged.

He stared at Creston a few moments.

"I...was really scared."

"i bet, you were all alone in the forest, anything could have happened to you." The yellow gro said, thinking about creatures that live in the forest.

Maw nodded and curled up slightly. "Thats how my mom lost her leg, and got those scars..."

"really?" Crest asked, surprised by that.

Maw nodded.

"I was just a wyngling when it happened. I don't remember much...just that she was hurt...."

"well she seems to be getting around pretty well, im sure you will be ok with a sprained arm and eye scar." Crest says, trying to make the mood lighten slightly.

Maw nodded, but sunk back against the couch.

After a moment, her took Crest's hand with his.

"I...really missed you.."

"I missed you too Maw, I was so worried about you and I couldn't get you out of my head. I just stayed here wondering where you were."

Maw tightened his grip and looked to Creston for a moment.

His eyes got big, then smaller, then tears appeared.

"w-what is it? Did I say something wrong?" Crest asked.

Maw shook his head and tried to pull Crest into a one armed hug.

Crest accepted the hug and gave Maws shoulders a gentle squeeze, being careful of Maws arm.

He also lent down and gave Maws forehead a kiss

Maw closed his eyes as Crest did so, then looked to him a moment.

"Crest...do you....love me?"

Crest was surprised by Maws question and hesitated. "y-yes Maw.....w-why?" Crest asked nervously

Maw sniffed as a few more tears came down.

He hugged Creston again before whispering.

"Because....I.....love you..."

That took Crest by surprise even more "r-really?" He asked, he could feel his heart begin to flutter.

Maw glanced to him.

"I...couldn't stop thinking about you...your voice...how much you care....how happy you make me feel..."

He leaned aback and pressed his snout to Crests.

"I...don't want to leave you anymore.."

Crests eyes begin to brim with tears and he presses his snout against Maws "I dont want you to leave again either Maw, I love you so much."

Maw sniffed and tilted his head, catching Crest's lips with his.

Crest happily gives into the kiss and presses against Maw slightly, holding him close.
