Description A picture from the Kenai Fjords Cruise near Seward, Alaska. We pulled up in our tour boat about a 1/3 of a mile away from the back of Aialik Glacier. It was rainy and very cold outside (especially around all that ice and water). Glaciers are humongous, blue, and incredible. That boat is a much smaller tour boat that went a little closer to the glacier, as close as was safe.

Thank you very much!

I know what you mean about moving the boat to the left more. Next time I'll try to think about that more.

hey, it is "not" a mistake !
it is only a personal preference... something, I think, might look more pleasant to my eyes but anyway it looks fantastic

Wow. It would be so cool to go see a glacier up close and in person. Is that really ice the boat is floating in? I really like how the glacier is blue and stuff.

I like this a lot. Very sharp and colorful, atlthough everything has a blue theme. I like the composition a lot, but I think that it would've been cool to include more of the glacier so you could see exactly how small the boat was up against it.

One more thing, I think you should resize it and make it bigger! It's a glacier after all, make it big!

Thanks. I have more pictures of boats and the glacier. This one just stuck out because...I don't know why. I just really liked this one. I'll submit more later.

Its funny that you say that because i just looked at it and thought, "I should resize this to make it bigger."

To be honest, when I first saw this image, I didn't think that the boat was real. Something about this image seemed surreal or untrue, but to discover that it is, in fact, real, makes the image so much more amazing. I love this.

I can imagine how you must have felt before such massive glassiers (even though I haven't been next to one personally). It seems that they are often bigger underwater...which reminds me of Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues under the Sea (even though that was in Antarctica)...the Nautilus and Captain Nemo, hehe

There is nothing quite like the sounds of the cracking and creaking of a glacier. It was amazing.
