Description
These hexapedal creatures are descendants of marine creatures roughly similar to terran starfish which crawled out of it's oceans some 300 million years ago and evolved into a plethora of radially symmetrical creatures. Among them are the Nlosm (a rough approximate of a name unpronounceable by human vocal cords used by the sapient natives of the aforesaid said planet's most developed continent). Nlosm are fairly large creatures, standing between 1.5 and 2.5 meters tall and weighing in at 150 to 600 kilograms. They stand on three legs with a trio of smaller limbs situated around a mouth on their underside which gather plant life and move it into their three jawed mouths. Nlosm are fairly stupid creatures, but are never the less social living in large herds. Nlosm are raised for their meat, eggs, hide and as draft animals (which has become less common as morotized vehicles have become more common). They are generally quite pliant though they can be a bit agressive when in heat. Their upper hips have a layer of hardened scales and small horns that they use in rutting. Their brain is fairly small and located near the top of the mantle in a protective shell. Above it is a mound on which are three eyes and hearing diaphragm on the top. They have three reproductive organs which are either male or femal. There are pure males and pure females, but these are in the minority. Each female reproductive organ can produce up to four 15 centimeter spherical eggs, which hatch into young after forty days of incubation which grow to adulthood in fourteen months.
