Description

A quick Command And Conquer Red Alert fan thing...

---

In the aftermath of the Uprising and after some Border Skirmishes, Premier Fedorovich and Emperor Tatsu eventually met and came to a secret accord. Whatever their differences between the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the Empire of the Rising Sun, they both shared a threat in the Allied Powers and if they were to regain their power and prominence there was only one path: straight up. Using Magnetic Satellites and Launch Vehicles and Imperial Robotics and Computer technology, both powers began to move massive amounts of assets into space. Bases were soon established on the Moon, Mars and in the clouds of Venus, which grew into colonies and cities. The Space Race had been kicked into overdrive while the Allied Powers were marred by internal divisions between it's member states. Despite the efforts of some, they soon found themselves in a distant third place.

That was thirty years ago. Now tensions are again rising: Soviet Marshals feel that it is time to export their Revolution around the world while Imperial Star Force Admirals wish to restore lost glory in the name of their Divine Emperor. Both are in a position to take out the allies limited assets in Space and take the fight to earth, though both are wary of their partners. It is a powder keg waiting for a spark, which will bring all three solar powers to Red Alert.

Here's the basic infantry of the Three Powers...

Allied Powers Spaceborn Command Trooper: While by no means backwards, Spaceborn Command has suffered from a highly limited budget and part of this manifests in their basic infantry. They do have a solid force of well trained professional men and women drawn from the armed forces of their member states but their equipment is mostly the product of lowest bidder/highest grafter contracts with modified civilian gear which is effective and heavily armored, but cumbersome. The addition of a pair of rocket launchers on backpack mounted targeting arms made by a Canadian firm and controlled by a wrist or gun barrel based targeting laser helps considerably against harder targets. More advanced gear is in the works and is seeing some limited deployment, never the less for the bulk of Spaceborn Command's troopers they will just have to make do with what they've got.

Soviet Extraterrestrial Military District Rifle Infantry (Conscriptnaut) : The Soviets focused heavily on moving as many people off world as possible to develop the High Frontier and by far have the largest off world population. By extension they also have the most boots on the ground off the earth, be they Earthborn or Spaceborn, the majority of whom are the so called "Conscriptnauts". Mandatory military service persists even in the space age and plenty of people yearn to see the dreams of Marx and Lenin brought to life. Conscriptnaut spacesuits are like their rifles: simple, dependable and easy to produce in bulk, if rather bare bones. It's easy to maneuver in and has decent protection against shrapnel, though leaving aside the chest piece it falls short of Spaceborn Command suits in terms of protection. That said, simple numbers can often make up for deficiencies

Imperial Japanese Star Force Planetary Forces Marine (Imperial Warrior) : The Empire did not have the simple depth of population to match the Soviets, but has engaged in extensive colonization efforts around the Solar System and has built up formidable war machine in the form of the Star Force, which handles both it's space fleet and planetary forces. The front line of the latter are Planetary Forces Marines, or more commonly Imperial Warriors. While they lack the raw numbers of the Soviets, they make up for it with advanced technology. Their spacesuits rely on mechanical pressure, making them lighter and more flexible while they are clad in advanced ceramic armor supported by an exoskeleton. Their kinetic carbines pack a considerable punch for their small size. Finally the standard suit has a set of RCS thrusters. Originally these were designed for boarding operations, but on planetary surfaces they allow Imperial Warriors a greater degree of maneuverability by allowing them to jump. In several instances the last thing that a hostile has seen is an Imperial Warrior falling upon them with their Beam Katana drawn before they are cut down in the name of the Emperor.
