Very nice
I am unaware of his rank though, as i don't know what SS collar had the 1 under the double lighting bolts

That will be SS members of the the " Deustchland" regiment which will later become the SS Panzer division "DAS REICH" and his rank is Obersturmbannfuhrer.

ah yes the SS-VT, they had an impressive combat record in the later *minus all the massacres* but the early war they were over confident and I find it amusing that in Poland during the invasion they had to be saved by a fellow Heer unit because they had gotten themselves surrounded

ImperialAce In reply to Blackhedgehog13 [2013-03-30 02:22:22 +0000 UTC]

this will make sense for my story because the top secret German military organization is controlled the Heer and SS, but this character breaks the realation with the Heer, by killing( without others generals knowing) there leader who was in charge. Once this was done it became an SS organization.

Most of them, but there are some Wehrmacht and Kreigsmarine characters involved.
Even others like Gestapo,Hitler youth, and NSDAP, but there minor in my story. There is no Luftawaffe characters in my story.

Nice. I like all the little details you put into this work. Did you color this with markers? I especially like the dynamic shadow cast by his visor. Really adds emotion to this work. And an excellent job with the colors; very good match to the old uniforms. Very well done.

ImperialAce In reply to Ulver-av-Nord [2013-03-30 00:31:47 +0000 UTC]

Thank you and yes I used markers the are the brand Prismacolor. I only wished there was a background though

Ulver-av-Nord In reply to ImperialAce [2013-03-30 00:45:23 +0000 UTC]

You are very welcome.
Hm, backgrounds can be tough. I rarely have them myself because I am not very good at drawing much else beyond people. I can, but I rarely like it. I think this piece is stronger without a background, but that is just my opinion.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ImperialAce In reply to Ulver-av-Nord [2013-03-30 00:49:02 +0000 UTC]

I guess , the background I wanted was Destroyed buildings and SS soldiers marching since its WWII,but it was kinda hard to design.

Ulver-av-Nord In reply to ImperialAce [2013-03-30 00:50:21 +0000 UTC]

That would be difficult, especially with trying to get the angles right. Now that I think about it, he does look like he should be looking out over something. Like all his ingenious plans coming to fruition!

actually he's seeing dead bodies and enjoys watching the corpses.

I can't imagine that smelling very good.

ImperialAce In reply to Ulver-av-Nord [2013-03-30 01:02:35 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, this takes place in the year 1941, during the invasion of the Soviet Union called "Operation Barbossa" where all the German military were sent to capture Moscow before winter, Lucky for this character he won't be stationed in Stalingrad.

Ulver-av-Nord In reply to ImperialAce [2013-03-30 01:04:48 +0000 UTC]

Heh, yeah that is lucky. It seems like you actually incorporate history into your work, which is very nice. Many 'historical writer's just take the general aesthetic of the time and don't bother with much else.

ImperialAce In reply to Ulver-av-Nord [2013-03-30 01:13:02 +0000 UTC]

Most historical fiction story writers have to be careful of putting characters in a story, its good to make characters, but what's the point if they don't have historical background.

And this character is to other referenced to other characters such as
1. Emporer Palpatine from "Star Wars"
2. The Major from the Manga series "Hellsing"

Generally this character's archetype is the "Devil-figure"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ulver-av-Nord In reply to ImperialAce [2013-03-30 01:16:00 +0000 UTC]

Very true. The whole point of historical fiction is the history behind it.
Ah, then this makes sense. I certainly see the relation as well; to be honest, when I first saw this I did think of the major.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ImperialAce In reply to Ulver-av-Nord [2013-03-30 01:21:41 +0000 UTC]

Yeah except The Major is short, pudgy SS officer who is insane about war, but he wants war against Alucard, and I think he was a cyborg.

This Character is much stronger, a well built German/Russian man who stands firm with a iron fist to destroy his enemies, but he is too insane but ain't like the Major, if these two had meet, This guy will enjoy killing him and his Vampire Soldiers.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ulver-av-Nord In reply to ImperialAce [2013-03-30 01:27:14 +0000 UTC]

He has to be a cyborg. Otherwise he has the most messed up arms I have ever seen. (They should not bend like that...)
He does look a lot more intimidating. Step one to being intimidating is to look it; this guy has a much more powerful and commanding presence. I also like that he has some Russian in his bloodline.

Among my characters von Weiderstein has many allies, one of them is an Italian fascist/Former Mafia, named

Alfonso Mancini. Mancini is more of a volunteer, or a mercenary-for-hire who still dons the 1920s Mobster clothing, this character is slick and deadly and wields among the most deadly weapons.Such as the legendary Tommy gun.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ulver-av-Nord In reply to ImperialAce [2013-03-30 01:46:59 +0000 UTC]

Nice. There is definitely a distinct quality to the Italian mob; I like the idea that he still has the same attire as from when the mob was pretty big. I think that could fit just well enough to not feel like there is too much mixing of times. Especially if that is the simply the character's choice. Sounds like a very interesting story.

I don't know what to call the title though.

Ulver-av-Nord In reply to ImperialAce [2013-03-30 01:56:40 +0000 UTC]

Titles are always a bother. I have trouble with them. Heck, I have trouble naming my art pieces that I submit! I always think I'm so clever; then I just think, wow, that's actually lame.
I usually give a book a working title that changes many times before completion. Hopefully by then something will stick nicely.
