Where I had the main protagonist ships done sofar...he graciously did the one ship for my antagonist empire!

The Blitz class frigate is the primary frigate of the old Calderian Empire before the Great Schism. The longest serving frigate type ever, it has undergone various refits in its history.

Armed with dual primary rail cannons and four independent smaller rapid firing rail cannons. However it's main armament is the Bane missile system that allows the frigate to fire a massive salvo of missiles at targets.

It's primary defense is a Helios shield system. The wings on the ship rotate constantly and refresh the shield frequency. This creates a powerful shield that can last longer than standard systems. However if it is overwhelmed it will result in a catastrophic meltdown of the shield generators that can disable the ship.

Due to its age it is being phased out for the newer and brutal Reaper class frigate.

Addendum:
This frigate is unique as it has a very low crew count for its size. As a result many of these vessels were transformed into drone frigates as a cheaper addition to fleets.

Many of these ships were captured at the breaker yards of Ophilium by the Imperials in a during raid and used for this specific purpose.
