Did an upgrade for the Fortress class and HandofManos again did an excellent job of bringing it to life!Backstory:
During the fall of Hynerios it became apparent to the Empire that the Fortress class lacked the capacity to survive in a slug match. While still deadly in its own way, it couldn't take as much punishment in prolonged battles and heavy losses were suffered due to this oversight.
Plans were immediately set into motion for such a robust ship. However it was realized that a new ship could take years to design and develop. So a stop gap was formalized on the existing Battlecruiser...and thus the Mk2 was born.
It has more shields and weapons (four shield hardpoints over its original two to protect critical areas such as the bridge, core, living areas and weapons systems) and a redesigned interior support structure that can keep the ship whole even after losing its armour of prow.
Later ship designs would forgo the sleek design of the Fortress for more brutal aesthetics.
